I use the cable to convert the 5V on the splitter device of PoE Kits "TP-Link POE200" on USB. Then a USB coupling (here I use the "Wentronic USB adapter (A Female to A-Female)" [does any other A-female to A-female it] or USB hub (passive) and can be a few smaller USB devices such as a mini router or MiFIS (3G router) with electricity! But absolutely it sure that you have 5V selected. The best tape over the splinter with tape that you do not change by mistake. Or a drop of hot glue on it.
