Presumably you could similar results with a good stereo headset (Sennheiser, Koss - the "normal" prices are no longer available in Germany - With micro) accomplish and an equally good sound card, since my computer but only a standard onboard HDA chipset offer Realtek I wanted to make any compromises (I headset alternately on both use> notebook for work and Desktop for occasional play) or experimenting with different "virtual surround" software - which is then again not exactly adapted to the headset - perform ,
Positive
- Removable, washable (!!!) ear cushions made of cloth (very breathable, yet dense)
- Very good stereo sound via 3.5mm
- Very good surround sound with good location with the included USB soundcard (Logitech gaming software must be installed for running well and configuration is simple)
- Polyester-coated cables, virtually tangled do not, because it is very slippery
- Sturdy metal bracket (under plastic cover)
- Virtually no piano lacquer (except on the inside of the microphone and because even 2cm²), thus not prone to fingerprints
- Perfect comfort, even with glasses, does not press for hours absolutely and ears (at least my) fit exactly into the pad
Negative
- Volume control on the headphones not (absolute luxury problem)
- No Auto Mute with fold up the microphone (see above;))
- While breaking point in the clip volume control, very weak executed plastic clip of the Lautstärkeregelungsbox should be attached to the shirt, this works only as long ...
- Edit: the sheathed cable, not tangled, scratch the clothes, then what is clearly audible
Have the G430 acquired as returns for ~ 55 (regular price 70-80), this would be the regular price, I would give 5 stars, so the value for money is not optimal, although still acceptable.
For me currently the only viable gaming headset in the range below 100, as the competition often performs the bracket in permanently breaking piano paint plastic (unfortunately was the competition that I explicitly with this problem my removed by Amazon, but a search should yield rapid results) ,
Edit: The often reported noise at 100% volume and the microphone can be as follows under control bring (Windows) ...
> Playback Devices> Properties headset> level turn down right click on volume control> level of the microphone or not containing switch
... This regulates * not * the volume of the recording (we are among playback devices), but the level of listening. It sounds so bad because the headset sealing very good, but the noise is completely eliminated.
