Unfortunately, this is the radio station search, neither FM nor DAB stations. Even a cheap clock radio or a simple kitchen radio with a ridiculous wire antenna will all FM stations.
The radio is very nice to look at and built quality. Also, the sound - for a radio of this size - adjusted very well and by the Equalizer for the bass and treble to consumer taste.
WLAN integration works very well. If not visible SSID but you have choose the manual configuration. But also is not a problem.
After switching on the device after about 15 seconds a bind to the WLAN and plays music. The transmitter will remain stable.
If only year would have been an internet radio, I would give it 5 stars.
Since, however, explicitly advertised with FM and DAB, this should work. But it does not. Apparently I'm not the first person to notice this.
Such a thing does not work! Otherwise I would have to purchase a cheaper device (320 z.Bsp. Hama IR).
I wrote to the manufacturer. I'm curious about the answer. I will add the result later.
A similar product is the Technisat Digit Radio 500. This I have now ordered because the IR3000DAB not bring what the manufacturer promises.
The Sound Master was sent back as a complaint for failure to function in key areas.
EDIT:
The demand from the manufacturer found that devices with the last 3 digits of the production code (on the back) in the 400 range (Example ... 20403) are not working properly for FM and DAB. You could send in the device and can be retrofitted.
In devices with product code 501, the problem should be solved in the new deliveries, so FM and DAB reception should be possible.
EDIT 1:
The Technisat Digit Radio 500 has found immediately FM and DAB stations. FM transmitter noise in stereo mode. The DAB stations are equipped with the antenna extended super audible.
Unfortunately, the sound - despite setting via the equalizer - somewhat dull. Priced at about 200 of the sound I was not convinced.
Ansosnten corresponds to the menu guidance the IR3000DAB.
Ultimately, I'm trying to get a IR3000DAB with FM and at least DAB function. If necessary, the manufacturer may indeed make improvements in a complaint.
The design, processing and the sound make IR3000DAB for me to first choice. But only if at least DAB works.
EDIT 2:
Another experiment with a IR3000DAB has unfortunately failed.
The unit had indeed found some DAB stations in DAB + reception, but was not able to keep even a station permanently.
Compared to Technisat Digit Radio 500 an absolutely lousy performance.
The unit of Technisat had found at the same place the whole DAB + stations and also play properly.
CONCLUSION: When IR3000DAB is something promised (FM and DAB +), what the device does not provide factual. However, you have this - not little - pay. Although Wi-Fi reception and sound are really good, the non function of FM and DAB + for me is intolerable.
The support from the manufacturer - I had asked there several times - was also not great.
Apparently, they know about the problem, but seeks to not solve.
Ultimately I have the second unit also returned and will buy from Soundmaster no products.
EDIT 3:
Now I have finally found a radio wireless Internet radio with DAB + MEDION LIFE P85035 (MD 87090)
FM and DAB + in perfect reception. Wifi works perfectly.
And - particularly for unit size - impeccable sound.
The Medion Radio has only one small flaw: the volume can not be adjusted continuously. From level 4 to 5 the difference in volume is already audible.
But the sound is really impressive.
This device I will keep and recommend it.
