-> The 18mm (which becomes a 28,8mm on APS-C sensor) is suitable for groups of photos, family celebrations and classical landscapes without much strain or risks compositions defects encountered with wide-angle more wide (which require more control and know-how)
-> The 55mm (which corresponds to a 88mm on APS-C) is ideal for portraits. 5.6 The opening at this focal does not favor a nice bokeh but it tolerates some small mistakes focusing thanks to its slightly larger depth of field than 1.8 or 2.8!
2 / silent operation thanks to the engine STM: Awesome !!
3 / An image stabilizer, essential for handheld net pictures.
4 / Very light, ideal for photographic ballads, even if it is built entirely of polycarbonate (if one is careful, no reliability problem)
5 / bad the visor might not come automatically, but for the price it is understandable.

In short, I recommend.
