I got the game yesterday (07.06.2014) on time as always supplied by Amazon. Today I have the final act behind me and a whole leaves the game with me very mixed feelings.
I used to be a big fan of pure adventure games a la Gabriel Knight, Broken Sword, Black Mirror or the Druids. A similar deep story and mind-bending puzzles so I had me for Murdered: Soul Suspect desired.
Story-wise, everything is kept at a fairly high level and acts consistent. At least, my initial impression after the first hours of play. Unfortunately, the inhabitants and the environment are boring and also the answers or ideas are always repetitive and rather less original. At the same time the German synchronization has again struggling with austerity measures. So I had to smile more often than a passer-by in a completely different mission suddenly the same voice got lost as the police officer that I had recently even overheard.
Also in Soul Suspect no classic puzzle as one example of a "Broken Sword" knew. Here you had to write down things on a list to use it in a later mission. Some puzzles prepared a really big headache and not always be progressed without Strategy Guide. Quite different behaves in "Murdered". Here you come into a room and to clear up what happened. This one does by collecting evidence simply by pressing a button. Are all references collected the case is closed and you have merely put together the information collected properly. This monotonous "Fall reconnaissance" around zipper from the middle of something and tired storyline the player. It really was not a single situation where I had to think or not came. Too simple one is led to the right path and receives too much information about what to do next.
Unfortunately, some bugs have crept, the not exaggerated but interfere just yet noticed. For example, objects are suddenly revealed hidden and must be made visible again by pressing the R2 button. At one point on the beach I had the case of the drowned lady already solved as a mission later everything back that looked as if I had never been there determined.
The story is exciting and promising, the graphics is fine too, but remains Murdered: Soul Suspect significantly below expectations, as there is no actual mystery to solve but blunt pressing individual keys is enough to lash out through the story. I had the game in about 8 hours, which is also quite short for a pure single-player game for my taste. This could have been avoided if you had installed a little more variety and more difficult cases.
In approach the game actually makes everything right. Finally a game without Geballere and carnage. Unfortunately, you would need to step up the focus on the field Adventure much stronger if it is because it is then advertised.
For me there is only a conditional recommendation to buy, because the game of to short duration and the game as a whole considered easy to linearly abzuhandeln is.
