It is quite interesting how DomQuichotte As for the three themes. One can pursue fully and in every detail, like the movie posters created as incurring billboards and cover and as labeled. As always many ways lead to the goal in Photoshop, it is interesting to see how a professional terms this task, the tricks he has worked and what tools he used for it. So everyone can find inspiration and new ways for their own work for themselves.
The nature of the demonstration of examples is designed especially for advanced users of Photoshop, you should be able to safely deal with even layers, layer masks, adjustment layers and clipping masks in order to understand the content. But precisely for this clientele, so the advanced user, these examples show too little and not enough new tricks. Conversely, absent for the not so experienced users the presentation of backgrounds for each step.
This is also the glaring weakness of this video tutorial. Although the flow of the image processing is presented in detail, but the audience wonders very often, why now exactly this step is taken in this form. What is missing is the idea of the image before processing and a target, in which steps you want to achieve this result. This would facilitate the spectators (also advanced) understanding considerably.
One can argue about on the images themselves. At least with the image to Katastrophenfilm Uli Staiger would probably shake their heads about the 3D graphics and give Doc Baumann the Golden Lemon for non-compliance perspective. The road is exciting in any case. I'm missing in some places the consequence in the processing. Especially with difficult work, as the exemption of a tree with many gaps between the leaves, the audience wants to know the way. This step is omitted but with the indication that the deficiency in the poster does not really stand. Instead, other, very similar processes in the films are shown in great detail.
Conclusion:
An interesting approach, time to look over the shoulder of a professional, but fails in my opinion the lack of didactic structure and the fact that the author is not clear about which audience he wants to concretely address.
The tutorials
- Are too challenging for beginners, both because of the presupposed knowledge and because of the use of Photoshop CC2014.
- Provide advanced image editors too little content.
