Installation:
Commissioning was no problem, though took a while until the unit had found the settings (as was also documented) but then I was able to access it from different PC's from the "home" network on my new drive in the network. Incidentally, I have a Eumex 800V DSL router. According to an employee of the Cloudbox sometimes problems with the Fritz box (without rating, with me it had worked)
Manufacturer Support:
- It was always answered quickly and friendly e-times
- Unfortunately often no helpful answers because sometimes not much idea but also the product design itself is from Security view I think is a problem, for which the support of course, nothing can and in retrospect those design decisions can not simply rework
- Was strange that I had to register with full name and address, the support staff could be but not sign with full name (company policy), which encouraged me feel that LaCie comes to funny ideas, not only the security understanding, to but later...
Hardware:
- Looks chic, blue light (LED) displays operational readiness

Software:
- For Windows 7 and the latest Mac version of the software allows without any problems, set the necessary parameters
- The tool for Windows XP can be downloaded; did not go because my virus scanner from Avira has sounded the alarm in my (problem I had reported the support: A. enters yes only one (my note: very known) virus scanner from Avira on who finds a Trojan in to download the component Other antivirus software. (according to LaCie Support) see no trojans in the LaCie software for Windows XP. The problem seems to care LaCie. Although now, Windows XP is from the support, so I'm not going negative. Cloud application:
This part of the assessment leading to clear devaluation. According to the documentation, a freely accessible area is defined from the beginning, can freely access the each user. That's a good idea, so that one can quickly achieve success in the establishment. I can also define protected areas, but what use to me if me any "crook" from the Internet can zukippen my hard drive and can store things, which are then activated accidentally by children and may cause harm. No protection against unauthorized write access over the Internet, which is not at all. So who really wants to build a cloud solution should specify another device better.
