If you want to read more can read my review at the Audio Technica ATH-M50 from 05.05.2013.
I called this my self so far and I'm still from Audio Technica more than convinced. So why try anything else? Well, I'm surfing hear about some of the previous positive reviews of this headset and ordered it to me about test times and was not disappointed ;-)
Listening through headphones is indeed highly subjective. One needs an analytical (= Studio) headphones, the other wants a warmer vote, other assets more bassy.
Ok, the Philips is not necessarily matched analytically, in fact, is also not built for it. The headset should be fun when listening to music and still be clear. Personally, I also like a little extra kick in the bass (to the Audio Technica incidentally also has not just too little, in fact even more than the Philips!).
But now to the actual:
Packing:
Precious, very precious. Fits to the rest I would think ;-)
Look and feel:
Holla the forest fairy. This part is extremely noble. Actually, there is in this price range absolutely nothing like it. Aluminum, the finest leather, the chic deposition of the metal grille on the Ohrmüscheln, already own the connectors on the cable. This part is extremely chic. Respect to the designer. Something fancy I have not had in the hands headphone range. Cable is the way removable and can be replaced at the option against another (stinknormale 3.5mm jack!)
Comfort:
despite its not exactly light weight of 350g without cable the good part on the head is kind of easy. Unbelievable. The headband can be felt almost not at all and the velvety material to the large earcups is super soft on. Even after hours, no sweaty ears, no heaviness, nothing. Just top class. I thought already the Beyer Dynamics (DT770 etc.) would Ohrenschmeichler, but that part is even. Even in the shade Even large ears should easily fit in.
Sound:
For me ... fantastic! Clear Bass and also very, very deep. The opinion of the negative reviewers here that extreme the centers and Co. are stolen in favor of the bass I can not confirm. The differentiation is very clear and even in extreme low bass vocals and instruments are clear verstänldich. While the bass is always present, but never playing in the Vordergrung but remains discreet in its field. So makes music fun.
As I said, that's not a studio headphones, the maximum frequency separation has set as a maxim. This headset is a musical headphone and when he makes it extremely fun. There are dozens of reviews of professional audio sides (not only the relevant dummy sheets as Chip.de and co.) Who see it the same way.
Because of the past few months with my Audio Technica I had however once a few days to bring the good piece, until I got used to the sound. Now I would not have missed more and prefer not even depose him. Absolutely top class.
Anticipation may still:
If you have for years used to a certain headphones, so you tend to go always the sound possibly worse (because otherwise) to be seen as that of the old. Usually takes the human ear even to recognize the advantages of the new up to 2 weeks in order to "convert" and.
I personally recommend everyone at buying a new these also once put on a few days and explicitly to hear this. The audition in the local electronics store for 2-3 minutes I hold rather pointless.
Conclusion:
if you add up all the benefits of the headset gives the a clear picture: perfect look and feel, comfort, second to none and a sound that is simply extremely fun through all areas, be it Metal, Pop, Electro, concerts or whatever. Simply brilliant, everything is just right.
