The information comes from a variety of databases, including the USDA. German food you will not find here. While there is the possibility to enter their own food, but I'm assuming that most people do not know if and how much cystine or isoleucine are present in their food. However, the tool can not be beat when it comes to supporting a raw food diet. I can see exactly how many nutrients and minerals I get and how far I am away even from my daily requirement. In the Gold version by subscription you also get suggestions which foods are especially suitable to a specific component to cover yet. Even if one takes multivitamins, you can show or hide these.
