For small (and large) railfans

Our son (3.5 years) has given bekomen this starter set for Christmas. We had been thinking about for some time whether we should buy the starter or the superset. Since our son already has tons of DUPLO bricks, figures and vehicles, we have opted for the starter and will complement this by individual rail sets.

The starter set includes next to a locomotive a wagon, 1 train driver, 2 passengers, some stones for a Bahnsteigg and a bridge as well as a few tracks. With this, only a small circle can be built. The construction of the tracks and the train is effortless and is to accomplish good for smaller children. It should be noted that the set is delivered without batteries required (AA). So if you want to losgespielt out of the box it must be ensured that the batteries are present.

The starter itself has arrived excellent at our son and is always loved to play again. Toll in particular the driving noise of the train and the locomotive during refueling. However, the relatively small number of tracks ensures that no innovative routing is possible. For long-lasting gaming fun therefore the purchase of appropriate rail sets will probably be necessary.

The question of whether, given the different equipment now the starter or the superset is bought in my view difficult to answer. If the child has to Duplo bricks and vehicles already on a sufficient supply, the starter set ranges certainly out for the first time since this stock can be integrated into the game. Our son used not only diverse figures as passengers, but loads the wagon using an excavator with DUPLO bricks in order to unload his truck after some time elsewhere and go away. The low track number makes with him not yet noticeable. In children who are so far no or only little else Duplo, I would rather buy the Superset or equal to one or the other track set as a supplement.
