I have the lamp directly times disassembled and removed the dust from the reflector, the LED and the lens (plastic). Furthermore, I have the Led trued (easy to do) and spread some Wäremleitpaste under the Star-board. Incidentally, it is really an XM-L installed (but Binning unrecognizable).
So 3xAAA (really goes, round adapter is included) batteries inserted into the adapter and built into the lamp. When you turn then first disillusionment ..... where are the 1600 lumens (ok so I have not really counted anyway ;-)? The lamp should be compared with my Olight M30 Triton (700 lumens Olight loud) somewhat weaker or possibly equal. But the focus is absolutely outrageous! I have never seen in any lamp so variable focus.
The Throw is so strong set that even the LED can be seen on the screen. In this setting, the lamp is extremely wide and almost no spill.
Carrying out the reflector greatly to Led, you get a perfect spill and the environment is extremely unittelbare well illuminated. However, then the lamp is only about 30 feet wide. In this setting, you can see at the very edge of the spots an orange ring, but not annoying.
In between, you can adjust all possible combinations of throw and spill.
The light color I would rate at about approximately 7000K, much more comfortable than my Olight (pink tint).
The driver provides further a totally flicker-free light in all settings (Olight flickers visible).
I have tested the lamp with a 18650 battery and the lamp seems to me therefore to trace brighter than before with 3xAAA. However, the 18650 is not seated firmly in the lamp, it is about 5 mm smaller than the inside diameter of the lamp. The battery still does not wobble around but since the spring this very strongly fixed.
The level of craftsmanship can not be compared with a Fenix or Olight, but absolutely fine.
For the price, I can only recommend the lamp, if only the fact that the lamp can be operated with 3xAAA and no expensive CR123A required is really great.
Four stars I forgive because the lamp was not assembled clean on arrival, dust inside the lamp was present and the Star-board was installed without thermal compound ....
