Since my AV Receiver Yamaha RX-A3010 no gapless can, I was looking for a cheap network player with the display can also gapless. Digital inputs I need. Therefore, the choice ultimately fell on the Pioneer N-P01. After some time of testing me 2 things are noticed. The display (3.5) and font size is still too small to be able to read / seat pitch of 3.10 meters on the display title or artist in my hearing. Only the font size of the Source selection (top line of the display), just large enough !! I have resorted to an 8 tablet and the Pioneer ControlApp (Android) to seek out of my seat from my music! The display of my 5 smartphones me was however still too small. A tablet with the Pioneer ControlApp I wanted from my seat from not normally use, but otherwise it is not well! The search of the music on a Synology NAS, right on the Pioneer N-P01 itself, is a bit slow. Since I have my music on the NAS in folders by letter, each letter a folder sorted, to keep the search for me in a temporal framework. The search with the Pioneer ControlApp (Android) but goes ruckzuck vonstatten.
Now a few other things.
Gapless works with FLAC, WAV, and AIFF files via USB, LAN, WLAN and the Pioneer ControlApp. MP3 files will not play gapless. However, the gaps in MP3 files are very very small!
FLAC, WAV and AIFF files can be played with up to 24bit / 192kHz.
Via AirPlay Spotify and Bluetooth I can not say anything because I do not use it until now.
Sonically are FLAC and WAV files ripped from CD, hardly distinguishable from the CDs of my CD player (Marantz SA KI Pearl Lite) will be played.
All in all for the price a great device with a few limitations. I'll keep the instrument still until there is even a device with a larger display and acceptable price. The market for network players is still young. As is certainly technically change something.
