For me it was important in the first place, that the TV can play movies in the popular file formats directly via USB.
In this regard, my claims were met almost perfectly: the only thing I had a problem until now, were DTS audio tracks that can not play the Toshiba namely.
Otherwise, in this respect, everything works for me relevant: DivX / Xvid, Dolby Digital / AC3, MP3 and of course HD movies in MKV format.
Even files with multiple audio tracks are not a problem, at least not after I finally figured out after a very long search of how to change the language. The option hides namely under the menu item "Info", where they would probably no one expected ...
And this is also my opinion biggest shortcoming of the TV: The menu in the file playback is unfortunately a little bit complicated, but once you get used to it first, so that you can still get along well.
Otherwise, the file playback is flawless, whether played from a USB stick or external hard drive from my that are videos smoothly.
From the image quality I am (what basis my previous TV probably no wonder), still excited:
With Full-HD video picture is sharp razor.
In normal HD, ie 720p, the image is still super.
Naturally low-resolution videos showing the usual imperfections, but again I could not really complain, since I do not directly stick to the face in front of the screen and at a reasonable distance (2m) that falls no longer on already.
I was pleasantly surprised by the tone also:
Before buying I had read in a review that this would "tinny" sound, but what I absolutely could not see anything in practice and in terms of audio quality, I am actually very meticulously.
Of course it is still much better, but here it's not about a stereo system for several thousand euros, but a TV plus a relatively low-cost. Who insofar complains about the sound, in my opinion a little lost touch with reality (or unlucky enough to have bought a defective copy and not to notice).
Practically, I also think the fact that the television has been installed a DVB-T receiver, which probably impressed but no one who has not used the same television for at least a decade. ;)
All in all, I am completely satisfied with my purchase and highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a low-cost, yet high-quality television him only.
PS: Do not be put off by the reviews, in which the Toshiba is described as a great "second TV for the bedroom". 32 inches are actually quite large, compared to my old tube TV (and who had the then-standard living room size) even downright gigantic.
