After Smartphones also "Internet radio" control what the data flat rate slows quickly, I longed for DAB + in the car. Since 2011, DAB + finally reality. As a logical consequence, only lacked a DAB + -capable receiver in the car. The GMYLE PPM001 was announced by the price / performance ratio value my experiment, I 'going over the line in the car radio anyway.
My statement after a day use (Updates to battery life, etc. are available in a few days):
Positives:
1. Compared to Tchibo-FM radio from the 70s and 80s cheap housing acts downright luxurious. It works (despite plastic) for this price rather noble (please do not compare with iPhone or high-end Android devices!).
2. The stationary reception is good, both in DAB - / + - as well as in FM mode (!): In the A40 / A52 26 stations DAB / DAB +, FM transmitter 16. About adapter (3.5mm jack to RCA) is also available on the sound quality nothing to complain about, even at home on the hi-fi stereo system.
3. The output is much stronger than in the last generation Walkmen (ie: volume and tone (good headphones) are very good and loud (), but channel restrictions may apply - which DAB / DAB + offers itself, this receiver can NOT compensate ...)
Negatives:
1. The mobile reception depends on the antenna location.
In order to enjoy trouble-free music or speech, the antenna (headphone cord) must be vertical! When jogging or walking with the PPM001 in your pocket everything is OK, then the cable runs vertically. In horizontal position the dropouts (no signal "bubble" or) are just as likely than in Tunnneln good reception: to carry the device in a shirt pocket is therefore not a good idea.
That is with me in the car: Only when I run the (headphone) cable via the Innnenspiegel, I have perfect reception, position the PPM001 directly on the car radio resulted in poor reception! However, this is also true in tunnels: FM reception is automatically set to "mono" and you can hear no noise, DAB + is due to the system completely (a similar phenomenon I've noticed when stationary muvid IR-825: The wire antenna I need to vertically stowed behind the cabinet horizontally behind the receiver reception is poor; that seems to be so a DAB-typical problem and no fault of PPM001).
MIRACLES can not be expected at this price. In this respect I can only following
Conclusion:
In less than 40 euros you do not go wrong if you order the weaknesses of DAB + white and lives in the DAB + -Ausbaugebiet. To "sniff" in the world of digital radio receiver this is definitely worth the money! HiFi Pampered should, however, equal to a far better (ie more expensive) select model.

The battery life I would give for just under a year with what felt like 10 hours, because my ways by car are always quite short (about 2 x 30 minutes a day) and I recharging approximately every two weeks. With a Y-cable (1 x 3.5 mm jack, 2 x 3.5mm jack, approx 2 x 0.5 m cable, costs about 1 Euro) is the reception + fairly stable even in the car with DAB, except in the tunnel (see above).
After nearly a year I do not regret the purchase anyway.

The battery still holds just as long as the beginning, but the backlight is now down. That for a long time already seem to be so, I noticed it but not - because I do not see Radio HEAR and ...
My assessment is: the best alternative to the "Digital Radio" get a taste; HiFi friends should engage in a more expensive device!
