Hello There, I bought this monitor to replace my 5 year old Samsung Syncmaster 730BF because I was very impressed by this and I promised a lot from Samsung here. At first I was full of joy, because the design is very nice (although naturally attract dust), the TV reception works great and the on-screen menu is really very, very exemplary. Such a nice menu I've seen in any monitor in this price range. The first disillusionment followed but when I then connected the monitor via HDMI to my PC. The image was coarse and ugly. This could be still resolved by the proper selection of the source (HDMI-DVI) and the aspect ratio. So I then hammer out a first very good picture, but really great, it was still not. So I played around in the settings. But no chance, so beautiful colors vigorously as my little 5 year old 17 incher was not hinzubekommen far. Especially if you are both situated directly adjacent to one another, this falls to negative. That would not even that bad in itself, what I thought. Does not have to be all squeaky colorful. But when I then tried for the first time more than 10 minutes to work with the monitor and surfing the Internet, I noticed that my eyes hurt a lot. It falls kinda hard to concentrate on the text. So the brightness even further runtergeschraubt and also reduces the contrast of 100 to 80, increase the font size and the screen further positioned away from me. But this has not done better, and the image looked like covered with a gray haze. For diagnosis, I also asked the little old again there watching now here, now there. Here I noticed right after a few minutes that most hurt the eye, standing on the side of the big new Samsung. Even my partner looked just a few minutes on the screen and even certified headaches. On another PC the same result.
It is safe to adjust to a part also habituation thing how the eyes, but also the quality of the colors I find a direct comparison less beautiful in the TA550. At a hardware defect, I do not, because of the picture is sharp and at least acceptable. It's just kind of hard to concentrate on the image. So he goes back willy-nilly. Too bad Samsung - otherwise namely a very nice monitor, I would prefer to never show her if I could work with him.
