- The display responds very well.
- Created videos can be played and viewed directly on the screen. Men can also before and rewind.
- There is an extra key with which the screen can be turned off. When the camera is in a housing of this button, however, not be reached. Then there is the menu option to display the 1min / 3min / 5min / Never (display always on) or OFF (Displayer always off) to put it into Sleep mode. The recording is then and the display turns off automatically after the set time from. -> Find I made super !!!
- The brightness of the screen can be adjusted in 3 steps. (Saves battery)
- Shooting at night (Low Light) have improved
- Photos with the Night Mode look very good
- Audio recordings have become significantly better than compared to Hero 3 White or Black +
- At first I had problems with the screen on the phone on the Go Pro app. However, there was just a software update for the camera, I started directly via the app. Then there were no more problems.
- I have now played around for about 1 hour with the camera. Shooting started, scroll through menus, connected to the WLAN, etc. and have now even 2 of 3 strokes battery.
- The old battery of Go Pro Hero 3 no longer fit. It must be purchased new. The originals are very expensive. Currently there are still some "fake" batteries in the market.
- The old Go Pro accessories also fit to the new Go Pro 4 models!
- QuickCapture make the menu to ON: Camera is off. simply press record on the camera -> camera starts -> camera will continue -> Press again to RECORDING -> camera stops RECORDING -> camera turns right back out. Divine !!!!
- There are 3 different valves for the underwater housing. One is in the touchscreen and the underwater work. Another which is open at the back for better sound (in the car, motorcycle). And the "normal" where you can dive to the deep completely closed and all. (The flap with touch screen should be "only" 5 meter diving)
My opinion compared to Hero 4 Black: Currently 100 more expensive. It is true that the possibility 4k take in 30 FPS However, there are at least in my circle of friends almost anyone of 4k devices has at home. 4k needs significantly more battery power + space on the memory card. The Silver economy also 4k but in 15 fps and bucking as the recordings. The Hero 4 Black can record 1080p 120 frames. This is great for slow motion. The Silver creates 1080p 60 frames. This is not "super" for slow but good. The quality and sharpness of the video is the same for both! (Same camera lens). Display is only available with the Silver case.
You have to make 4 Silver 3 questions when deciding between Hero and Hero 4 Black:
- Do I really 4k 30 FPS video recording?
- Do I need super slow motion effects in my videos or rich also good? I use any slow motion effects? -> Super slow motion effects creates the Silver also, albeit in low resolution 720p -> 120fps
- I find the display in the Silver sense? Am I ready again in addition to take 100 into their own hands and to buy for the Black EinsExtra and I need at all a display?
One more thing, if you "4k or 1080p" happen all the names like Chinese, and you just want to times short films a motorcycle tour, then you also do just fine the entry level model of Go Pro Hero for 125 (is also new to the market ). Buy indeed a Ferrari and then not call off its potential or performance. ;-)
In this sense, a lot of fun at the decision. For me it is currently the Silver and let's see what is in 3-5 years. Possibly 4k devices (televisions, monitors) are then in circulation and above all cheaper.
