From incredible versatility

No. 1 Erlkönig
Even as Schubert lovers may like this version a. It affects twice menacing by the accentuation of the gusts of wind and mist with heavy drums. Especially moving is the heartbreaking death of the child, accompanied with the sobbing violin.

No. 2 Ma Dove Sei
A beautiful original composition by David Garrett and Franck van der Heijden, sung by Andrea Bocelli. The violin imposes itself not against, but plays around discreetly the wonderful tenor.

No. 3 Caprice No. 24
The last and most famous of Paganini's Caprices, and a great opportunity for David Garrett to prove his virtuosity (insane pace of pizzicato with the left hand), but also its emotional appeal in the slow parts. This rondo form no passage are alike and it is clear that David Garrett has not only studied composition, but also a very creative, imaginative arranger.

No. 4 Io Ti Penso Amore
That is also Paganini! (Violin Concerto No. 4, 2nd sentence). The text, convincing well sung by Nicole Scherzinger, based on Goethe's close lover (I think of you) and was extremely successful arranged.

NO.5 Devils Trill Sonata (Guiseppe Tartini)
Always nice again: Tartini's Sonata with the Devil's Trill. First, the touching, soft and melodic beginning; then the change to the fast, heaping, virtuoso double handles, accentuated by drums and guitars. Incredibly difficult, but masterfully executed: the interminable trills in the last part.
The opulent orchestral circuit makes an excellent contrast to

. No. 6 Paganini: Sonata No. 12 in E Minor, Opus 3
A very worn Sonata in the deepest minor. Here cries Paganini, as so often described by eyewitnesses.

No. 7 Swan Lake Theme
The main theme from Swan Lake is many already known by the crossover concerts of David Garrett. Tchaikovsky's highly romantic music is as sweet interspersed for all those who still have reservations with classical music and enjoy the recognition effect of a very popular melody here.

No. 8 La Campanella
One of the most popular additions in David's classical concerts is Paganini-footed playful and enormously difficult bells (see. To David's CD 14)

No. 9 Rachmaninoff Concerto No.3
The ingenious arrangement of David Garrett and Franck van der Heijden gives the concert cut an almost exotic-inspired, amazingly diverse sonority. It is fascinating versatility, mainly through the rapid exchange of virtuosity and beguiling melodies, as in fact most of the songs on this CD.

No. 10 Caprice No. 5
You will not believe your ears when you hear how David despite this crazy pace this breakneck Paganini composition plays completely secure or error free (faster than his record-Hummelflug?).

No. 11 A La Turca
One knows many versions of Mozart's Turkish march, but hardly one that comes along so playfully light and cheerful. For this, the orchestration emphasizes clearly the march, which gives an impressive contrast.

No. 12 Scarlatti Sonata in F Minor K466
Again, the surprising change from the strong rhythmic emphasis A La Turca for minor softest of sensual beauty in Scarlatti's Sonata.

No. 13 Gypsy Dance
One would think that the world famous Russian way of the black eyes (Otschi tschornyje) had long worn. But here she comes very fresh and new, therefore, full of temperament and fire.

No. 14 Carnival of Venice
My hat, it has three corners who do not like to sing as a child in the game of forfeits, but this hardly have guessed that this is Paganini! The dance-like playful, spirited virtuosity Garretts culminates in the pizzicato of the left hand, which are so demonized playing schwieig that it is not surprising that they called the Paganini Teufelsgeiger.

No. 15 Capriccio Tarantella
With this work of Henryk Wieniawski at a dizzying pace and incredible virtuosity David Garrett proves the highlight of the CD his absolute mastery of his instrument.

The Deluxe Edition includes a second CD with the Garrett / van der Heijden composed or arranged music for the film The Devil violinist who in Germany starts in the cinemas on 31.10.2013. A review would therefore currently premature.
However, if they achieved the almost unsurpassable quality of the first CD, which we may assume to be quite sure, then worth buying this album twice.
