Externally, the NX11 and the NX are 20 to distinguish at first glance hardly. The cases are almost identical visually processed and very high quality. They are smaller than an SLR but for a system camera still quite large. That the NX20 weighs only 341 grams without lens, but provides haptic advantages. The housing is handy, well suited for one-handed work. Basically, the Samsung camera has a very visually dibasic. There is also no loose rubber covers, but real little plastic flaps for situated therebelow ports (HDMI, USB, power, etc.).
The high-resolution AMOLED TFT of NX20 is now up to date every angle.
A slightly quieter activatable electronic trigger has arrived and the minimum shutter speed is now 1/8000 sec indicated with. An electronic level is now also available.
The automatically switchable, dioptrieverstellbare electronic viewfinder of the NX 20 "blows up" the positive high-moderate range resolution of previous electronic viewfinder, especially the the NX11 or Fuji HS20. He is finally really to use and provides the image is relatively clear and clean. You might think you are looking through a pane of glass on the TFT of the camera, but recognizes therefore still a grid of subpixels.
The Samsung NX 20 NX11 is the technically superior, to the image quality of the Canon 550D, the NX 20 approaches slowly. The JPG image quality of the NX20 is at properly lit environments comparable to the NX11 very good, only at considerable zoom (50%) from ISO 800 in dark areas can be seen a little color noise in the NX 20. The NX 11 was there possibly something subjectively rather susceptible, starting from ISO 400 in low-light environments. Who will use the RAW format still get some more optimal images, but the image taking about 35 Mbytes of data.
In my new firmware 1:12 Samsung has reworked something I can every 1 second shoot another combined RAW / JPG image, at least I have tested the up to 5 images in succession in the "P" mode. The often criticized slow store, I can not confirm this! Continuous shooting (with 8 frames / s highest resolution tested) to run just fine, if you hold the camera still, here the saving process takes a little longer.
(Switched distortion) with the 18-55mm kit lens succeed at good illumination or daylight very nice photos. Also is the important to me, dimly lit area, as already mentioned up to ISO 800 without the use of integr. Flash pretty noise mapped (image of a lamp in front of the hotel and a candle with ISO 800 and image December sunset ISO 400 stored in the customer area) snapshots succeed in bright light, low light the AF sometimes has problems similar even when the NX 11, Technology needs caused little longer and pumped occasionally.
Many nowadays usual scene modes complement the photographic opportunities (sports, portrait, night, fireworks, color filters, etc.). Of course there is also the possibility of different automatic, semi-automatic and a fully manual mode to use in order to set the exposure, aperture, ISO, white balance, image processing, and the same can separately. The settings can be quickly selected as the NX 11 on the scene switches and lens bezel or on the lens attached to the i-Fn button.
Another special feature is the WiFi function. I have two apps loaded on my smartphone - "Mobile Link" and "remote viewfinder" Both connect via DHCP with the camera. One loads the images the NX20 to your phone / tablet, the other transmits the viewfinder image and controls the shutter of the camera (remote triggering). In the "Remote Shutter-APP" I needed several attempts right up there with the camera connection worked. Basically the app's are however quite easy to handle. The camera offers other features that uploading of images directly in social networks, send to e-mail addresses and allow the image reproduction on Wi-Fi enabled smart TV's. With intensive use of the wifi module a charged spare battery should not be far away.
A full HD video function is now on board and is sufficient for a short clip (with slow camera movements) somewhat out. At faster panning the videos are a little choppy, a video camcorder, therefore, not yet replaced the NX20. I need this feature but rarely.
My overall impression:
I want to be honest my subjective opinion, here. The NX 20 is the review time more correctly, the "flagship" of the Samsung system camera range. Good compact camera's far superior in image quality and functions and handling the NX20. On a good SLR, it creates not it get hold in border areas, especially the autofocus or the JPG quality at high ISO values are more mature in the tried and true SLR's. In broad daylight but I can barely make out differences in image quality, not for Canon 550D and not for NX11! But that is no less safe in the eye of the beholder. The overall quality of the Samsung NX 20 moves at a high level and has almost everything you can get in the system camera range today. The Wifi feature is very interesting.
The price has now fallen to the initial value by about 30% but has not yet arrived for me at the very real value of the camera. Therefore, I forgive just as 3.5-4 value for money Stars. In a few months the price will be there where it belongs (in the EOS 550D) and the ambitious amateur photographer can strike! It's getting close to the SLR's.
Addendum on 29.11.2012: The camera was after intensive testing of a wide variety of functions's quite warm (holding area) and settled with the ON / OFF control dial no longer turn right (Green LED lit permanently although off-position). Here briefly had to be removed the battery. Cause still unknown, since it works smoothly but again - I respect because time on it and give possibly more info!
