Although just with "Return To Fantasy" as a kind of wake-up call came along by the band in the summer of 1975, the well-worked quite well even with the fans. After a little more lukewarm "Wonder World" heated once the theme song electrically artificially sounding in the sci-fi sound on. What was that? Totally different sound! The organ sounds in the background psychedelic ... Almost by Doors ...
And indeed aroused the album "Return To Fanstasy" the impression that here sound-wise a lot has changed. All songs on the so-called first side of that LP can only be described as a high-class. The whole band was involved in the songs! The somewhat strange stomping but no less good "Devils Daughter" as well as one of the highlights on the album, the building on keyboards song "Beautiful Dream". It should be noted that after the departure of Gary Thain first time John Wetton bass served (King Crimson, later Asia).
From "Primadonna" it is then quite trendy. Perhaps a concession of the band to the musical transformation from the mid-70s. A beautiful cheerful song with brass being thrown and hit potential.
But unfortunately probably the wrong time ...
Your Turn To Remember is a rock 'n' roll - heavy ballad, as there was a lot 1973-1975, so eg from Mud or similar sung by Alvin Sturdust or Gary Glitter.. For Heep completely atypical, but I hear the song still happy.
After "Showdown" (not really my thing ...) is the beautiful song "Why Did You Go". Although very pop, he invites you to dream and reminds despite an overdose of fat so a bit of "Tales". I hear today is also very happy. Finally, the band rewarded us with the very quiet beginning, later fully by starting "A Year Or A Day" with a typical
"Heep / Hensley" - Sound and back with more Hammond organ. A little more of them would have liked it very much at that time.
Also, I notice that the bonus - tracks "The Time Will Come" or "Shout It Out", which are then unfortunately appeared only as Singel-B-side, even more after typical Heep sound sound and belongs to the album have! I find "Return To Fantasy" still very successful and can use it as colorful music in pop style and still slightly progressive flavored album recommend.
So Uriah Heep are started by after a little dry spell at full throttle. I may sound it is still in my ears:
Moonlight Night Moonlight Night after ...
I have now once again put on me currently the version on CD with "Beautiful Dream" as bonus material. I enjoyed it this alternative version, which I previously did not know, done ... I think almost better than the original album version. Sounds more like raw and Heep in the early days. The two super B-sides on board is therefore "Return To Fantasy" still consistently tied together ...
