First of all: The graphics are extremely well done. With enough computing power can be seen flying every single hair, the landscape and buildings have been created with great attention to detail. But even with fewer details it still looks great. An important part of Tomb Raider - Games has always been to explore also the last part of the playing surface for me, and that makes a lot of fun here.
The controls are simple and error-free.
The story - I do not want spoilers here - is the first place, the usual mix of fantastic elements, puzzles and battles while Lara in this first test of the survival instincts acquires that are coming in future adventures beneficial.
The playing time - when you're looking for real all rewards and hidden mystery - is okay.
From the previous game I felt cheated as PC gamers: While it was fun, but was shockingly short. XBOX players were then exclusively 2 parts digitally afterwards pushed, at least one of which has part of the original game - hey I paid even 50 !!! This part is, however completely and I have waited long enough for the purchase to be sure that you will not get ripped off again. For Single Player DLC / Maps are virtually non-existent.
Here the things that have irritated or bothered me:
- The focus of the game is clearly on the free fighting and conquering areas of the island. Grave puzzles are purely optional and as such quite simple and short. That's what I had to nibble first. I first played the game for about 50% and then leave months. Dannw ar I strong enough over it to see that this grave robbers part has practically nothing (ie except Lara unconventional archeology) to do with the title and the brand essence of the series. Who has hardly mt Tomb Raider had to do, which would seem to be no matter. The game as it is fun. It does simply flawless and the story has just enough train to stay on the ball.
However, the AI of the opponent is usually pretty stupid, you get most problems if too many come this idiot at a time.
The characters are partially animated beautifully, but are stereotyped, predictable and strangely soulless, that one hardly builds a bond with the people. To the basic idea of the story could have been also write an exciting cast and surprising interactions - would. Even Lara leaves a strangely cold, but this greatly improves when you dispense with the German dubbing.
One can find many meaningless artifacts and wonders at some point, whether the high levels of weapons still makes any sense at all (it does not), but the fun is somehow still there. And he who shall not be given, as illogical are Lara's emotional outbursts against the cold-blooded shooting attacks, has impossible played ever Tomb Raider. Lara has always been shot away, what you got in the way - just this once solved a few smarter puzzles. The whole thing is aimed presumably at a younger audience, which is assumed (which is really so ???) that it prefers a higher proportion shooter. To this end the game as a shooter is but then again too easily.
Not so easy is some (well-integrated in the flow of play) action scene, where you have to enter different commands to quickly screen instructions. Gab's always been (previously: Quick Time Events), has always been stupid. A parachute scene has since brought me almost to the brink of despair - an unnecessary difficulty, because the whole thing is a game more than it needs special skills.
In sum I felt but a good time, that game is worth especially as increasingly favorable purchase money.
PS: Only one thing is really bad: never again must Hoku Ho make the Synchro of Lara Croft. Each is strongly recommended the game to listen in English.
