Compared with EM-5 lenses:
+ In my 25-28mm FZ1000 is utrascharf. In the edge region substantially better than the Olympus 12-50 (24-100) mm and even better than the Panasonic 14 (28) mm (2.5).
+ For 40mm is still better than the Olympus 12-50 (24-100), but does not come to the Panasonic 20 (40) mm ran. My FZ1000 lens has on the right side in the range 40-75mm a minimal blur, but still within the range of the Olympus 12-50 (24-100) or better.
+ In the super-telephoto range incredibly sharp: 400mm are better than the Panasonic 45-175mm at 175 (350mm, and my really sharp).
+ Comparison with Olympus 75-300mm: Olympus is minimal sharper at 250-300mm. But: Olympus lens requires a minimum of 1 / 350s 1/500 better to keep quiet. FZ1000 requires about 1 / 80s-1 / 125s. Where 1 / 125s is normally automatically removed from the camera and sharp images at 400mm (800mm I-Zoom) is perfectly adequate. Even had sharp images with 1/8 and 1 / 4s with rebellion. That's really incredible.
Negatives, there are very few things:
- The plastic / plastic case, although well made, but at this Eierlegenden Wollmichsau it seems unfortunately very cheap.
- Lens extends when viewing images after 15s with a loud noise. The really annoying. I look at the images most immediately and it is annoying that this immediately after 15s, the lens retracts completely. Hope this will change during the next firmware eg eg 1min or you can change it manually.
+ - On / Off switch is on the control dial to turn perfect, but not quite optimal to use when switching off.
- Contrast of JPG images as compared to EM-5 images appear approximately flat. The EM-5 has a very good JPG engine. The FZ1000 is a bit dull (but OK), but if you want to get even more, you should also turn on RAW and use when needed.
