Who thinks 830g are very heavy, which has no experience with telephoto lenses a telephoto lens needs weight to keep it properly calm the 830g are actually still too little, because 400 mm focal length and 800 mm cutout feel best with 1.5 kilos then photographed it consciously. With slight cameras one tends to snap.

Each device has its LIMITS - where is the FZ1000 the limit?

I do not know what you're shooting, but without Tele Macro and super tele I never go out of the house - both I need more! And then all the little boxes Knips are totally overwhelmed. Everything else I do with the smartphone.
On a Tiger Safari a FZ1000 can at best complement, but certainly not replace high-performance full-frame. Equally, I realize that will never be acceptable such super-zoom camera for landscape and architectural-Fotofreund and night owls an Olympus OM-D with 1.8 / 17 mm or 1.8 / 25 mm will make or just a Eos 6D with 2.0 / 35 mm & 1.4 / 50 mm or for me a Nikon D610 with 50s. It has everything his permission!
But the FZ1000 is for me the best compromise for many, many years!
Panasonic FZ1000 for filmmakers?
The swabs must make the videos. At first glance looks 4K great, much sharper than Full HD. But the zoom is not so evenly not always quiet enough, the image stabilizer is not as really effective for movies and much more disturbs the perfect movie experience. There's a GH4 1500 a very different Kamera.Die FZ1000 is rather intended to keep short times a movement firmly and be able to play in a great BQ.

9 months later:
I'm still very satisfied with my photo machine and use it more often than ever thought.
The touch screen with immediate recording via the monitor (GH4) would be very important to me.
But otherwise it is completely unrivaled until today. Even cameras that are now rich to 1000, 1200 and even 2000 mm focal length with the old 1 2/3 "sensor 4x smaller and correspondingly poor resolution and weak in low light.
I think the FZ1000 has a potential that is recognized to date by the the very least.
I please complete now frequently in the normal range by the compact Panasonic LX100, which is also super fast and powerful and
with 1.7-2.8 / 24-75 mm (24-150 mm image detail with good BQ) on mFT a great compromise.
Despite full-format and EOS 7D2 and Panasonic GH4 - the FZ1000 I have always with me and I've always faster than with any other system,
my subject in focus on the memory.
Panasonic should bring an even better version leathered larger battery and better perceived quality.
