Finally and at last I've finally decided to give the new console a chance. Underscore I can now even mention that my confidence in Nintendo was not disappointed. But first things first ...
=======================
=== === Choice of package
=======================
At first I was by no means sure which bundle I should take. Since the Wii was white on one side U as a base variant, on the other hand, the black Wii U Premium. I finally decided for the Premium version, for several reasons:
- 32GB instead of 8GB flash memory: Both God knows not much memory in this day and age and I have already prepared myself to connect an external HDD. But from the standpoint that the new console should keep for a while and done updates, it's better to have more reserves than merely the 3GB that remain free even in the white Wii U
- The color: Many is the white Wii U externally liked better than the black. I approached as more neutral, I was then but, if one notices in hindsight that the white Wii tended to change color with the time something yellow in direction, the black Wii U told me here for more.
- Additions: Stands for gamepad and console do not interest me really, since they are almost worthless and a single-digit euro amount can be bought at any time. Nintendo Land I felt there already more interesting, who is not interested in this mini-game collection, found in the grave goods probably no particular incentive.
If one considers the added value obtained by the Premium version, the choice should actually quite simple fall. Memory Upgrade + Nintendo Land are to me an additional 50 in each case value. Just a note to ZombieU bundle: If you have no interest in Nintendo Land, but to ZombieU, so you should access in this package. But since I do both Nintendo Land wants and ZombieU, there is a total of more advantageous to take the normal premium version and ZombieU to buy (mathematically is for the Pro Controller about a surcharge of 50 is estimated at ZombieU bundle, the Pro Controller however, you get already separately for 45)

=== === Delivery
=================
I had ordered in mid-September, thanks at this point to Amazon for the speedy delivery - My console was already at 29.11.
====================
=== === Unpacking :)
====================
I think everyone loves this feeling to unpack a fresh console out of the box. Although I have already made the> 10 times, it's still a great feeling. Owners of the old Wii will this directly evocative of unpacking the Wii because the carton of Wii U is structured basically the same.
=======================================
=== === Connection to the other devices
=======================================
I have connected the Wii U to a 37 '' - Full HD TV via HDMI, from there I passed the tone my AV Receiver. Via WLAN, the Wii U is connected to a Fritz box 7390 until now I still have not experienced any problems.
A small note on AV receivers. As far as I've noticed that, the sound of the Wii U is output as PCM signal. Should you get no sound when connecting directly to your AV receiver, so is the probably (like me) the fact that the AV receiver can not handle PCM signals.
====================
=== === First Start
====================
Contrary to many recommendations from the Internet, I have started immediately after the initial setup, the update and let it go through. For me it has about 55min hand and ran flawlessly through. From time to time I have read that the Wii U will reportedly inoperative if during the update breaks the wireless connection or there is a power failure. The former is nonsense, firstly because the data is not downloaded, and secondly because there are reports that the Wii U - after the connection is restored - has continued the update and has not restarted.
During a power outage situation is partially different. If this happens while the Wii U still the update is downloading (about 80% of the time), so it has no negative consequences. Only if during the installation of the update the power goes out, you can wrap the thing again and try to convert it. However, this is not the sole problem of the Wii U but the normal result when a firmware update is interrupted in an uncontrolled manner. Who is really so stupid to pull the plug, because he / she takes the update for too long, it was their fault and deserves, in my view not a replacement device.
Now we come at last to the relevant part of this review:
==================
=== === The system
==================
Overall, I am quite satisfied with the operating system of the Wii U. Who had a Wii or a handheld since the Nintendo DSi, will thus find their way fairly quickly. Really performant it has not as yet, but you should give Nintendo quietly another year in order to improve the speed of (yesterday's update has already helped).
New features for the Wii U mainly two things: The Nintendo Network ID and the Miiverse. With the Network ID, Nintendo has finally adopted by the outdated and uncomfortable Friend Codes and introduced a single ID per console.
Toll is MMN. also the Miiverse. In principle, this is a social platform where you can chat about games and post screenshots. Depending on the game goes the functionality even further, for example, you can display in New Super Mario Bros. U, on which level applies to the respective post. Postet you instructions to a game, you can mark it as a spoiler, so as not to show others the solution, even though they wanted to see themselves.
The eShop is indeed already known from the Wii, but was revised massively and is no longer nearly as a lame duck. Demos for some current games are still to come, however, until now only a demo to Fifa13 exists.

=== === The gamepad
===================
I'm really surprised by the gamepad. It is quite comfortable to hold and is not too heavy to take off a hand for a few seconds and dodge on the touch screen. For games, however, require the massive use of the touch screen, it is too difficult and it should be stored depending on the sitting / lying position on the table or your lap.
The built-in display is good, but not outstanding, but then missing a few pixels. If you play only on the gamepad and has compared to the TV, so you realize that the image on the screen does not reach a TV.
Battery life is ok. She is in moderate brightness although only 3h., But considering that not only the screen requires power, but also the built-in WLAN module constantly transmits, did not come without a smartphone battery thick on much better terms. Overall, I was able to increase to approximately 4-4,5h the term yet, as I reduced the brightness of the display and the power-saving mode activated. Nevertheless I'll probably grab a spare battery as soon as one is available.

=== === Other peripherals
===========================
The gamepad is indeed the primary controller for the Wii U, but there are still some other input devices that can be used. These include primarily the Wii Remotes + Nunchuk and the Pro Controller, but basically my knowledge all devices that already gave it to the Wii, compatible, with the exception of the Classic Controller.
===============================
=== === Offer of video games
===============================
For a launch the Wii U has a relatively large starting array of video games. Some of these are ports good title (Mass Effect 3, Darksiders 2, Assassin's Creed 3, etc.), others are exclusively developed title, for example, New Super Mario Bros. U (NSMBU), Nintendo Land, ZombieU.
Graphically no title is of hammermäßig in Nintendo Land, but you can tell already that the Wii U represent some very good lighting effects liquid on two screens (TV + gamepad). NSMBU seen from ArtDesign to my mind also great, never saw the Nintendo characters better / sharper.
In the future, the visual quality will be even better for sure, you can tell the titles ported to definitely that they were first developed for the more CPU-hungry options consoles Xbox360 and PS3 and were then ported to the GPU rather-heavy Wii U. Next can and I would like to not comment, because my limited knowledge on knowledge acquired and still running computer science studies.
=============================
=== === Backward compatibility
=============================
The first update the backward compatibility for Wii has been unlocked. In order for the Wii U is fully compatible with the Wii and you have access to a huge selection of Wii games, including several really good games are. The graphic is here good upscaled so that Wii games on the Wii U look better.

=== === THE CONCLUSION
=================
Despite initial skepticism, I decided to buy a Wii U. I was absolutely not disappointed. With the new gamepad it plays great and the asynchronous gameplay in Nintendo Land, for example, I have already been extensively tested with 3 friends. The huge potential in one notices because such a simple mini-game as Mario Chase (in principle 'start') makes such a big fun that we have played more than 20 rounds in succession before we gewidment us the next similar funny game (Name occurs to me no longer, but was the ghost game in Nintendo Land). In single player I experienced the integration of the gamepad with ZombieU and Trine2 also very well done.
Basically, I can the Wii U therefore firstly anyone who wants has an interest in a party console as a huge potential exists through the asynchronous gameplay, on the other hand (as I will also do) you can see the Wii U due to the after momentary knowledge wonderful use completely different control as a second console in addition to a Xbox or Playstation.
Has therefore to me an absolute buy recommendation, if you already had fun with the Wii or interest in asynchronous gameplay
