After much hesitation, I had added myself the Xperia Play. My concerns were next to the size / depth and the weight above the gaming capabilities. After a week of any concern is now gone. The graphical performance I put excessively with "Galaxy On Fire 2" to the test, as well as all controls: the device is great in the hand, the Digipad and the buttons are great, the "Analog surfaces" ok, thanks to the recesses well palpate. The screen is very good and sufficient light, the sound of a cell phone really extraordinary (handsfree fun here). I welcome also the real Android function buttons - unfortunately for my taste a little too close to the screen / touch screen. The Androidoberfläche can delay use - except a widget needs a little longer to update its contents (not true, SE?). Then, for example, can easily delay entering the surface - but this is not really tragic: we are talking about fractions of a second. The Market Place can be found in abundance alternatives and supplements - for free or at a low price, no wish remains open. Or is it? Sony should make it hastily, to expand its own range of games for the Playstation Suite tidy. Man draws but because of its resources: where are the great PS1 Kracher? While there is already a growing selection of good "mobile games", which have been extended for the pad of the Xperia Play (prime example - and so probably only playable: Galaxy On Fire 2), but I wish there something more "console-quality". Another word for pocket suitability: also passed. The top and bottom edges are nicely rounded, the device only so popped into your pocket. And strong enough, it is also.
Edit 04/19/2013: After about 2 years I use my Xperia Play still. Meanwhile, the price has fallen below the 200 Euro mark, which makes the Xperia Play in my eyes for a bargain, even if the hardware is of course no longer the youngest. But with the current average devices the Xperia Play can certainly keep up - and it just has this unique gamepad. Since Sony has waived an ICS update (compatibility reasons were given - I found at that time still quite annoying as it had been promised), I have now installed CyanogenMod 9.1 (based on Android 4.0.4). And I'm excited about CyanogenMod! In one fell swoop, I was exempt from many unnecessary apps (solid Facebook integration, storage guzzling apps etc.) and now have full control over the apps that run on the device. The step is highly recommended, it freshens the surface but on properly. Manuals and software for Bootloaderentsperren (even officially supported by Sony!), Rooting and Cyanogenmodaufspielen's on the net (xda-developers.com). The Google Play account and all apps work flawlessly under Cyanogenmod. The support (the shameful few) PSone games with me away (renounce it and do not know if the app would be compatible or even run). The PlayStation Mobile App works (there's at playstation.com) and I can use so PSM games that I have on the PS Vita. And of course, do the many games with gamepad support apps from Google Play.
