First of all: the reception power of this flat antenna is excellent! Posted on Hotbird, which also still flat window bushings are used, a signal strength (SNR, S / N ratio) is achieved depending on the broadcaster between 82% and 88%. Same for AGC (Automatic Gain Control). The Bit Err rate (BER) is usually zero and fluctuates rarely short on 6, which does not bother. NO glitches, no so-called "blocks" and all channels available.
This alternative to traditional parabolic antenna (satellite dish) is highly recommended readily when, for example, the landlord (such as here in Hamburg) bans satellite dishes and even threatened with legal action! The SELFSAT H30D2-Twin is now on the canopy and is hardly visible, so that the "overall appearance" (lt. Landlord) is not disturbed!
Connected to the SELFSAT H30D2-Twin are two receivers: 500s Dreambox 7020s and Dreambox.
The alignment of SELFSAT H30D2 is very simple:
Once all components (brackets) were attached, it is recommended not to put the screws (yet) all too hard to allow the alignment of SELFSAT H30D2.
Adjust SELFSAT H30D2 at an angle of about 29 °: Example of alignment on Hotbird in the Hamburg drawing on a crosswise A4 sheet with "set square" an angle of 29 °. Draw the line from top to bottom and then cut DIN A4 sheet. Cropped DIN A4 sheet can then be used as a rough means for angle adjustment (elevation angle). Then SELFSAT H30D2 roughly adjust towards the satellite and (really) little by little (a few millimeters) turn the SELFSAT H30D2. Make your satellite receiver to a station and use the best addition a satellite finder.
NOTE: the operating instructions is a fault: on page 5 (step 3: parts together) is in the pictures "Fix the inclination" called the hex screw "S3" (M6x30). WRONG! It must be taken here, the hexagonal screws "S1" (M6x18)!
In addition, the hexagonal screw "S1" (M6x18) must to fix the joint on the main support (Figure 3, menu "Lock height") not as advertised to be taken, but the hex screw "S2" (M6x50) !!!
Unfortunately in my case was the mainstay (hexagonal tube "B2") welded on locknut not properly established and dissolved, so that the final direction of SELFSAT H30D2 by a hexagon screw "S1" (M6x18) could not be fixed.
(However, it disturbs in my case, not because the SELFSAT H30D2 merely standing on the porch)
Finally, I must emphasize once again how pleasantly surprised I in respect of Emfangsleistung am! Excellent product!
