By reading the famous "The Truth About the Case Harry Quebert" I had one of the most "extreme" experiences of my life avid reader, I must admit. But I did not want to thank the named Joel Dicker, however, because of shame or disgust I felt regularly to read such a poorly written book (at first I thought it was a translation sloppy but no, not even!), embarrassment in front of the dialogues which are among the most ridiculous lines I've ever read, do not make me generosity! How many pages do I jump to the well does not simply throw the book in the trash, I think especially the atrocious Harry recommendations to his disciple as to his vocation as a writer, which will become part of my worst memories Drive! And I even avoided rethink the rantings Dicker on American society (side arrogant businessmen from New York, another the backward bumpkins Province, and between them, no salvation, the message is clear, net), as is this rough foul painting of a rotten world that visibly Dicker knows only by hearsay. But then, you may ask, how did I manage to overcome such a pad? Well because, unfortunately, the enigma "police" which is the center of "The Truth ..." is one of the best, the best built - with this classic but diabolical game between eras - and more Addictive ever seen. Neither more nor less. The way the story seems to take its time for 3/4 of the book while we delivers critical information behind the mountain very predictable twists that household, eventually entering a furious acceleration is simply masterful . So, even the most unlikely series of reversals that the book strikes us in his latest pages pass as a letter in the mail: great art, if, if! And if we discern a fad behind the principle underlying the book that all is illusion, that nothing that is told we are out of the well head banged characters, it is rare this nihilistic vision of humanity is conducted so consistently to the total destruction of the majority of the characters in a novel. So in the end, one question and one: how is Dicker writer's genius as antagonist with his abilities - horribly limited - as a writer? Next time, Joel, do use these ghost writers honnir you seem to write your book in your place: everyone is delighted be found! Me first ...
PS: in fact, these prices received by this book, this is a joke, right?
