I have often read in the recessions that the scanner does not work with other (due to lack of Twain) programs. For example PaperPort. I have for many years and I love the S500 PaperPort. The solution is quite simple.

I'll scan the scanner in a specific folder eg ScanSnap. With PaperPort I access this folder ScanSnap. Done.

Another surprise I have experienced a few days ago.
I have VueScan in the prof. Version. I asked a year ago by the programmer ScanSnap without Twain. Answer: Unfortunately not.
And now, I could not believe my eyes, is also my S500 with VueScan.

I have so few meters techn. Documents scanned. Diagrams to A3 no problem. But with even bigger things I go on an A4 flatbed and scan an overlapping. Offering panoramic program, such as the free Microsoft ICE, everything is automatically combined.
