Johnny Hallyday revived by Michel Berger ... he needed a new project manager to the task. Jean Jacques Goldman, new prodigy of the French song, was then called to the rescue. Both say it has succeeded, to offer songs where he placed the point of view of begging singer. Whether on "Envy" (a title that would have kept JJG in his cartoons several years, the time to find the powerful voice fitted) or "Laura", Hallyday seems more in place than ever. Goldman, the end tubes maker, manages to propel "Gang" in the charts with several hits still doing the best days of our national radio. And again, this is only the tip of the iceberg as some other titles were really all the great success without having been published in 45s, like "Your Son".
Finally, what I remember is "Envy", one of the texts that seems the most personal of all discography Hallyday. The music is perfect, the lyrics of a rare delicacy for someone that success will certainly plagued ...
