Since the error rate and quality of a DVD is described not readily apparent, I check my finished DVDs random sampling with the free software Nero CD-DVD Speed (cdspeed2000.com). Here, the Verbatim DVD-R 16x blanks delivered excellent test results, particularly when used in the Sony DVD recorder, the error rate was zero. Since other blanks hard pressed.
The internal media code of the discs is the way MCC 03RG20. That is, these are genuine Verbatim blanks and not to cheap junk in a Verbatim packaging. Identical include the DVD-R 4.7GB Prodye TITANIUM V16 or the DVD-R 4.7GB 16x speed Gigatain.
From the purchase of no-name DVD media I advise personally. This can go well, but need not - and their data stored in the worst case gone. Better to spend a euro more for the 50-spindle and the good Verbatim DVD-R 16x buy.
One more note: Some reviews report of bad experiences with the Verbatim DVD-R 16x. This may of course be that this media is not optimal fit their burners / recorder on the one hand. Secondly, one must know that the above-mentioned blank is no longer manufactured by Verbatim itself but of Moser Baer India, Prodisc or CMC Magnetics, with Verbatim's technology is used. Smaller Taiyo Yuden series exist, of which my last, not quite as good 50s-spindle with the Media Code "tyg03" came.
In this respect, the very different experience of the users are easy to understand. Bad experiences are especially inevitable if the purchaser is a real plagiarism, which I do not believe that they are sold here at Amazon.
