In this installment, we find Nick Brodie, younger brother Dylan, former Rangers and former policeman, who we already had "seen" in the first part. During a weekend in Las Vegas, he meets Samantha Hollis. And after spending quality time together, they go their separate ways. But these days with the young woman marked Nick and decides to bring her a stay at home in Alaska. Holiday Samantha Nick are hardly begun, the young man was asked to investigate while discretion on an "accidental" death seems suspicious. Nick does not want to be part of the police but he can not help but invest primarily when people are in danger ... Even if it means putting his life and that of Samantha in. I liked the beginning of this series and this volume confirms my first impression. The author manages to make us travel without leaving our chair, through explicit descriptions but not heavy and it is appreciable. The story of the romance, such as the investigation is fluid, catchy, with twists but not too perfect balance that makes us turn the pages without noticing. As before, the author relies heavily on its characters. Nick is a man of action, we had seen when he came to help his brother Dylan, inactivity makes him crazy, he is straight and honest. His meeting with Samantha will be a real upheaval. Samantha, she is a pure city juices, she loves living in the city and nothing but his trip to Alaska is an adventure for her. Although this is not an adventurer, she is stubborn and willful, and some of his childhood wounds are not yet healed. The secondary characters are just as interesting, we will meet Rafe, but also wool Brodie Cord, a former college work but also best friend Nick and others that gives color and life to the story (and questions for the next volumes ^^) So I had a very good read, I deliberately dragged out so I was in this universe. I'm in love with Kat Martin universe (and I do not like the cold ^^) and I anxiously waiting below. Bea for actuya.fr
