Positiiv:
-although very small it is still quite good in my big hands
-Large, easy to read display
-Good picture quality that JPGs can be used in most cases without finishing
-for a Einsteigermopdell good autofocus
-Full HD video function
-übersichtliches menu
-ISO-Setting can be assigned to a function key
-sinnvoll configurable Auto ISO
Terminal on a remote cord possible
Negatives:
-The Autofocus in Live View is virtually useless, very slow and nciht fail. The same is true for video, the AF often inflated simply out helplessly and forth (in bright light and high-contrast scenes!)
-no mirror lock (sometimes important when shooting from a tripod)
-no-speed sync flash when (annoying, an external flash for brightening shadows when shooting outdoors so you can not really use)
-ISO Sensitivity only in moderate steps selectable - i or half-stop increments would be better here. Especially at high speeds makes the image quality that is a difference.
-no autofocus motor in the housing, so many older lenses without own motor only with manual focus available.
-Right high price for being too meager facilities
Conclusion: Anyone looking for a small camera with good image quality for a few occasional snapshots is right at the D3100. Who wants to deal seriously with the photograph chooses better a different model, such as the just expiring D90.
