Now that I've been good two weeks occupied myself with the device and durchgewühlt me through several forums, I would like to comment here. Basically, the device is a breeze. Connect the power, network cable in, cable TV tuned and ready. The only hurdle now is to determine the IP address. If you have a Fritz box you will find these in the home network under TSS400. The password for the administration interface is the way in the Doku. You can operate the TSS400 with Unicable, Quad, Quattro or 1-4 single LNBs. I have shot to date 2 Single LNBs. It has of course accordingly only 2 streams available. In this configuration, one chooses Quad / DiSEqC out. So much for the server. I use on my iPad the Elgato SAT> IP app. These costs 0,89EUR and works well right away. It is a pity only that you can not create favorites. Furthermore, the app no HD channels again. Alternatively you can use the HD + app. These are also HD content back and is for free. However, this falls to me very often from when changing channels. If you make the change but on the program overview, it works mostly. On my Windows 7 computer I use the DVBViewer. This will cost 15EUR and work top with HD. The device is described in the documentation. The demo version does not work! Also on the manufacturer homepage Triax-Hirschmann find appropriate instructions. Which unfortunately does not work with me, that the TSS400 is recognized as Universal Plug and Play device, for example by VLC Media Player. However, if you know how the URL should look like you can in VLC on the URL function open to watch TV anyway. Are you a Google search term following "Triax TSS 400 with VLC" you end up in the VDR-Portal forum. Here I have deposited a M3U file with post # 19. This can be after the IP address changed accordingly and the file extension has been renamed to M3U open in VLC. I myself use a Fritzbox 7360 and the streaming of HD channels 2 works for me also via WLAN good. Overall, I am satisfied with the device. I would hope that the uPnP ability is improved and that the manufacturer put some more energy into the development of SAP> IP devices.
