Packaging and quality:
The packaging is very good and protects your device. The processing of Navis + accessories to be proud of. Everything makes a high quality impression. You have 2 options to fix the Navi. A holder for the disc and for permanent installation. Both brackets I would rate as very good because they are very stable. The possibility of the Navi without the holder easily removed makes sense. (Anti-theft protection.)
What is missing is a storage bag for the Navi if it is not in use. For other products, there is a free to do so. (In this price range I expect that comes with a bag.)
Software and screen:
The screen is very large and reacts quickly. Also, the display of the various applications can be clearly seen. One has to pack dispensed frills in the navigation pane on the display. That may indeed make navigation clearer, but there is unfortunately no way (as with TomTom) insert multiple applications.
For example, either the arrival time, current time or rem. Travel time are displayed. You can not display several times. This is also in other menu items like this.
To make quick changes is always a ransacking of the menu required. Is also significantly faster in other products. (Here I see a danger of distraction, as many drivers will not approach a car park for every setting ...)
I think in general the menu perform very headstrong. It takes a long time to set various functions. The permanent safety instructions nervous and can not, unfortunately, leave.
Furthermore, gestallten other things as well complicated. To add a Favourites you have to try for a long time until you get the out then.
I have a direct comparison to a TOM TOM start 25 that I use also.
Here the TOM TOM is better by a mile in terms of menu navigation. The user is already very curtailed when Garmin and unfortunately can set significantly less than the TOM TOM. I find that in today's technological age is a disadvantage because it is very easy through a simple software programming to change things on the screen.
Voice Control:
While the voice control is not bad, but unfortunately not a novelty. Since navigation app (eg the iPhone) significantly advanced. You have to speak very clearly that the navigation systems and does what you want. Especially when speaking of a complete address to the navigation system does very difficult. Every second street not find it right away.
Conclusion: Nice feature but clearly upgradeable and not good enough for this price.
Navigation:
Since the Navi scores definitely.
It is very quickly a GPS satellite and calculating the navigation is easy. Also can be adjusted whether you want to arrive more quickly or with the shortest route. The map data are very current. All tested routes true flawlessly for me. (Bin approx 3000km driven)
The device has been specially made for campers yes. What is very good that you enter the exact data of the vehicle (and save) can and thus the navigation takes into consideration any problem areas. I have used on some routes the RV mode. Again, I could find no error in the route planning. I could well imagine the trucks could also come up with this Navi cope.
POI's:
What a little annoying, the POI's can not, such as the TOM TOM individually corre- or off. One can only make all or Show none.
What very upset me: There POI packages the additional fee there are. If you drive a LPG vehicle, the app needs to download special filling stations for 9.95. In TOM TOM was FREE !!!
But I have no understanding and reason alone have a bad conscience, to assess the unit worse.
Problems:
Unfortunately, I have also found several problems, which also may not be.
At first turn the Navi wanted update any traffic information files. Unfortunately, there is crashed 3 times.
Furthermore, at me already 3 times occurred several malfunctions during use. After a short navigation, I wanted to enter a new destination. That was not all of a sudden. Although one could locate the address, but no longer start navigating. If the 1st time occurs, ok, can happen. But not 3 times in a very short time. I conclude on a not so good software programming. Even that may not happen at such a price.
Conclusion:
The large display and good navigation are clearly evaluate as very good. The attachment scores with very good.
Software and service are ok, but could be much better for the price. Voice control is nice, but unfortunately also clear space for improvement. Value for money is questionable for me. 370 is already a lot of money. One gets by TOM TOM (was with me just the Vergleichsnavi) equivalent or better products for less money.
