Since about 2 weeks, so I'm the proud owner of the reviewed here reversing camera.
I was surprised by the delivery, in a stable, product-specific cardboard box came the camera along with detail and above all easily understandable (= good translated) manual, incl. A 5 meter long cable between the connection. Camera and Radio. Furthermore, 2 pieces of double-sided adhesive tape (assembly line) to be attached to the camera.
The assembly is certainly not what people with 2 left hands, a little tinkering with the joy and dismantle car should have. However, the installation is vo all: Depending on the car that you drive.
From me the camera in a Toyota Corolla E11, Bj. 1998 installed. (See customer images). As Hatchback this car has a body shape like the Golf, so with hanging tailgate. The cable to the camera is therefore of the camera itself via the standard grommet betw. Tailgate and body, from there to the rear left headlight (where the connection is made to the management of the reversing lamp), from there it goes over in the trunk on the right side, and then run the cable to the passenger side to the front to the radio.
All in all, the went well, did for an afternoon needed, but it is also a good result harusgekommen.
Worth mentioning, I think it was indeed the cable is long enough, but only just equally, especially the cable from the camera is almost a little short, the connection between the two cables (ie the cable that comes out of the camera and which one of the radio pulls back) is carried out at my car right after the implementation of the cable from the tailgate into the interior.
So, but now the function:
The camera provides the reverse gear a clear picture with distance lines on the monitor of my Head Unit, The image is the day, especially in sunlight almost too bright, so rather overexposed, but you can still see everything. At night the image is grainy, but even then it is sufficient to detect any obstacles. One must not forget, that has installed the camera no IR LEDs, therefore the picture is really in order. I am also of the opinion that rather is a means of this camera, as it replaces the glance in the rearview mirror complete, so I have not seen the expectation of a crystal-clear HD picture, good enough for me, what the camera can entirely out !
All in all, I get exactly what I had imagined, I do not know what I should complain to the camera.
Here again are the exact dimensions of the right camera: 7cm x 2.7 cm x 3 cm (width x depth x height)
A few more notes on installation: In the manual which is of a mounting height of 56cm, I think that would be in my car at the height of the bumper .......... I was at our (standard fitted) Rear View Camera Kombi (Kia Ceed SW) oriented in this camera is mounted directly above the license plate. So I did it even with my Corolla (the camera is now mounted on 77cm height), and lo and behold, it works perfectly. The rear bumper is not fully captured by the camera, and especially the corners of the bumper are on the camera image with it, and that's more important than the middle of the bumper .......
All in all, I speak from a strong buy recommendation, time will tell whether the camera also is steady enough, but to do what is there, I will add it here .........!
