I purchased this external HDD to store my photos and with time I have no complaints. besides the fact that I do not have the usb3, transfers are fast (USB2).
It does not heat up too much and is silent. The white light is visible above without blinding as some.
I bought it with the cover Case Logic EHDC101K, it looks like they were made to go together.
FYI this is the second DD and I buy for the price it's worth it.
