The lens is a good compromise if you do not ever want to change lenses, and an ever-plan examined. The workmanship is very good, it is easy to operate and handle. The picture quality is by and large quite well, if you have no professional claims. Color and contrast is good, with the sharpness and image noise is sometimes a bit weak point.
However, the lens has also weaknesses that are inevitable in the Zoom Width. In the field over approx 125mm lens has weaknesses in focus despite Image Stabilizer. Have tried this even with solid objects. Even in very lower area eg for landscapes the sharpness is not quite optimal. In portrait photography, but on the other hand partly razor sharp.
In low light conditions (eg in artificial light in the apartment) it is pretty fast problematic, even in the lower zoom range. With the camera setting one-shot I have here still produces the best results. However, you often have to simply pull the trigger several times, only to get one or two usable images with good sharpness and imaging. Outdoors in the daytime it works much better and more reliable, even in the zoom range. The worse the light, the closer you should get stuck in to the subject.
The weight and the barrel of the lens should also be considered. The camera is hard and also very top-heavy in zoom mode. One needs to keep a strong grip on the camera firmly in hand.
All in all I am satisfied with the lens as always-plan. It works best as in the range of about 30-120 mm and in good light conditions. The extremities (18 or 200mm) are more suitable for occasional. For the price it's certainly not a bad lens and better than the Canon miteglieferte 18-55 lens. An all-rounder with weaknesses in the peripheral areas, and with some compromises. With this lens, you always have to take some pictures too much, and come back out looking for the best.
5 stars I can not forgive that but you can not expect.
