The unit arrived today, much faster than announced. In the initial trial run, it does the job perfectly. The startup was simple, the initial configuration as a repeater including changing the SSID, set up WPA2 encryption, and connection to the local router went smoothly. In the function as a card reader refers the Spartan instructions for Apple on an app for other operating systems on the built-in FTP server. That would become quite uncomfortable. In Settings menu, however, is an entry for a Samba server, and after it is activated, the device displays three shares. No sooner is the first, "mnt" gemounted locally, may be accessed in the directory sda1 on the inserted memory card there. That makes it very comfortable on the Windows Explorer (yes, there can also be easier on an SD card access :-)) and may under Android with a File Explorer of Samba (eg ES).
This means the device all I've wanted from him, with good usability.
Why not five stars:
* The unit transmits only the (sometimes quite crowded) 2.4GHz band, not at 5GHz.
* The setting surface, like the manual a little - um, as I say this - very functional. In other words, unloving. You have to know a little bit what you are doing already.
* Focusing on Apple in the description is misleading, the Samba function relatively well hidden.
If prolonged use results in new aspects in the course, I will add here.
