After the first test recording then the shock: the sound indeed seemed louder, however, was a clear background noise to be heard, which does not occur as the built-in microphone of the 600D (!).
The test on PC (Audio recording with Sony Vegas) resulted in a noise-free result which I had really liked my camera shots.
Some research on the internet revealed the following, and I would hereby warn all who want this microphone (and other external microphones) for a Canon DSLR use:
The noise comes through AGC, so Automatic Gain Control, where it is a software-based amplification of the recorded sound by the 600D. Here can be in any of the Canon DSLRs except for the 60D park the AGC, which is why you inevitably receive this mMn unacceptable noise with any external microphone.
So do what? Firstly, an audio controller can switch between, but those parts cost some money. Alternatively, the sound can be completely carried out by an external device, but this method will cost some additional, and the sound has to be synchronized later.
Firmware updates for Canon, there is not yet, and if you ask around in the community, which is probably, unfortunately, as intended by Canon.
There is a hack, called Magic Lantern, which for some models (not for the 600D), the AGC-disable (and incidentally many other useful features) allows, but you should always be careful with such software under warranty conditions.
To my rating of 4 stars: The microphone provides a good sound, especially (as it should) in film direction. Lateral sound is pleasantly quiet, very suitable just for interviews or when shooting with ambient noise. A star deduction there, because I had a stronger elimination of camera noise, occur, for example during manual focusing hoped.
As proven, the suspension of the microphone that is to dampen the transmission of camera movements on the micro in use, I sadly can not say.
I'll return the micro, because it currently for my camera simply is no right support. But I think that owners of other types of cameras, camcorders va, be happy.
If anyone has a solution to the problem of the AGC noise for the 600D, I would make a comment under the review very grateful.
