Good dry performance, weaknesses in ergonomics and in the processing

We were looking for a stylish addition to our existing Braun Satin Hair Iontec hair dryer, we have for some time already in use and with which we are very satisfied. The test for the present model HD380 Braun Hairdryer Satin Hair 3 HD 380 Power came in quite handy. It has similar performance but is more compact and kept in plain white, partly matt, partly high-gloss. We are basically satisfied with the hair dryer, but there are a few points that are more backward steps in our view. But in detail:

+ Really strong performance with 2000 watts
++ Separate control for blower speeds and heat (each 2)
+ Cold air button
+ Ordinary cable
+ Is very good in the hand, well balanced
+ Overall good workmanship
+ Modern infrared technology
+ Ion technology

+ - Slightly more compact shape than comparable large hairdryer (but not really "compact")
+ - A little easier, but not really noticeable

So far so good. What leads to the deduction?

- The switch for fan, heating and cold air act compared to the rest a bit cheap
- The switch for the blower and heating are on the front panel. We find that inconvenient. For other devices, the manufacturer they are located behind the handle. This can serve them better
- The "fluff" prior to the air intake is rigid, can not remove for cleaning and has relatively large openings (dust / burning hazard) Other products from the same manufacturer have fine screens, which can also be removed and cleaned easily.

Especially the last two items represent a step backwards for us, because that was resolved much better even with older devices. Overall, however, a very useful hairdryer who has everything, what is really needed: Separate settings, power, infrared heating and ion technology. The only but also a necessary accessory styling nozzle is included. The price was not yet determined the time of testing. If the comparatively well below those of the higher models is now a real alternative.
