To put it straight to the point. On a wet shave he does not come close. But for me it is ok. I shaved many years wet, but I always had slight rashes and irritation at the neck. To finally get rid that I wanted to change to a dry shaver. First, the 5 Series by Braun tried. For me sufficiently in any way. After 10 minutes back and forth still too many stubble and partly also for far too long. That changed after a few days so not the Brown was sent back. Again few weeks passed with wet shave, then I thought, ok wirs try again with a 3 head electric razor. The choice fell on the Philips since the time of purchase even 20 cashback Users attended. So ordered and tasted the same. Toll. Much better than the brown. Much quieter! If not hot (as opposed to brown, in which it was already uncomfortable) and the shaving is also much better. The hair cutting attachment is also handy for cutting beard. My old beard trimmer I could replace. The battery is very good. I have the razor charged until now only 3 times. I bought it just before Christmas 2012 and shave it every day. Super, so you may save the charging station having to take on holiday. What I also like very much, is the backup. If you press 3 sec. Long, the soft-touch button the shaver is locked. An unintentional switching is thereby excluded. Philips can (s) use in the shower. To shave themselves: as mentioned at the beginning it does not come to a wet shave zoom ... BUT, my neck looking for great. No more irritation, no red spots. Since I take the slightly worse shaving gladly accept. For the range between Philips and Braun, briefly listed perönliche my experience and opinion:
Braun Series 5 negative because:
- Too loud - After a short time (~ 30 sec.) Uncomfortably warm - Shave much worse - I was not suitable for the shower - Could not be locked
Philips RQ1175 / 16 positive because:
- Quiet operation - Temperature remains the same - Shave for a dry shaver ok - Can be used in the shower - Super Battery - Lock function - Hair-cutting attachment
As I said this reflects my opinion. There are plenty of other who see it probably just the opposite :) One must think I know both worlds, to find the best compromise for themselves.
