I have Bose noise-canceling headphones and not want to risk it to the beach. I also have the earphones do not find to be comfortable. I've been to a significant number of headphones that I would not mind getting suntan oil or water splashed on. So far, these seem the bill. If something happens to her, I'll just order another set (you can not say the same for the Bose!). While these do not have the same sound quality as the Bose, 18 for I did not expect it to be the same! I was actually quite pleased with the quality. This was a good find and work good for the environment they are used. Although I usually use to listen to audio books, I use them for music.
