My desire was a housing with 12-cm-fan front and back. The disks should be in the air stream of the fan. While there are some other housing offer such a thing, but then to act playful or (me) simply too expensive.
The facts and experiences:
The disks are mounted on a damped with rubber track, which in turn is mounted vertically in the housing (the disks are then on the left case cover). This solution then look for something longer PCIe graphics card slot. On the track, two 3.5 "HDDs or three 2.5" are mounted (or one 2.5 "and one 3.5"). It is also good that the hard drives are in the air flow of the front fan.
5.25 "drives are mounted on one side, with a somewhat unstable acting Plastikverriegleungsmechanismus. According to the manual should be enough, I have the drive from the other side still secured by two screws, as it is something left to move in the shaft.
A plus there's the built-in cable management: Through various clips in the housing, the cable can be the embarrassed go from the front panel to the motherboard or to the hard drives clean. The three front USB ports are also very timely, on eSata I could do without. With an appropriate motherboard but can all connections are used (in this case Intel DH55TC).
For the fans that came, I can not write anything because I have exchanged PWM controlled and unlit. Even with the holes on the left side flap I could have done without - here is another 12cm fan could assemble. I have these "sealed" with a corresponding fan grill.
Over the entire front a dust filter is installed, the one however comes only with removing the front panel - just like on the front fan. With a vacuum cleaner, the filter can also be cleaned without removing the ventilation holes on the front panel.
The build quality is not bad, but not outstanding. The black finish (powder coating) acts in the light of something cheap and uneven, but it should not interfere with a PC which is under the table. Also, it is very difficult to remove the right side panel. When the Power LED is blue and extremely high luminosity, mainly very noticeable in the dark - that bothers me not.
A serious night part - ultimately leading to the star trigger - I have but then discovered:
Who built a PSU with a "bottom-" 12cm fan and flaring Lüftergitter, must expect that by the support rail in the housing, the grating is pressed accordingly (and thus the fan is disabled) or the power supply in the worst case (such as with me) can not be installed or difficult. I had to remove with my Seasonic power supply the fan grille. So if you want to be sure takes a passive power supply, in which a fan is installed or removed behind the fan grille of the power supply.
Conclusion:
All in all - despite of the problem with the power supply assembly - a highly recommended and well thought out mini-tower case at a fair price.
