As for the story of fratricide, it has also many oversights. Nothing on the episode of Sodom and Gomorrah. I find that this reduction is a shame because the kids would love to know more. Certainly, if the Bible reference is sometimes a bit heavy syntactically with many enumerations of place here is expected that the bulk is said and that morality is saved. But sometimes misunderstands the action of each other because some episodes are omitted. When the Israelites arrived in the Promised Land, it does not mention the land of Israel, an important name appearing in the Bible in their entirety. Again, I had to go and check to be sure not to say stupidity children and provide them details they asked.
However, I find that the lexicon explained at the end is fine. On -Sermon Beatitudes of Jesus on the main mountain- to remember is highlighted: "Before a large crowd following him, Jesus teaches the way of true happiness, the poor and the little ones, and not the happiness of the rich and powerful. This discourse on the mountain appears as the law of the new covenant, where love comes first. " The page is mentioned so that one can find the transition very easily. Children hold that happiness comes first love, essential foundation of Christianity: "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth." (Those who make justice prevail gently, without hurting each other with love and compassion, will be rewarded. What a beautiful picture!)
Similarly summaries biblical episodes are always very well-referenced so that anyone who wants to read the passage in its complete Bible can return very quickly.
I regret that there is not an easy book for children but who comments some key passages for them to think about morality and spirituality that is lost. Think of the cardinal virtues (Prudence, Temperance, Strength (= Courage), Justice) and theological (Faith, Hope, Charity) that few know and who are the pillars of a fulfilling spirituality. Nothing is developed on these points in the Bible. It therefore does not quite correspond to what I was looking for, because it omits many episodes and is oversimplified for my taste and especially that of children who want to deepen!
