1. Purchase Motivation / Review subject
I bought the keyboard with the clear objective "Playing", my good nearly 10-year-old Fujitsu keyboard for 10, - EUR from the friendly electronics wholesale market suffered slow of old age and I thought I would need sometimes such a cool Gamer Keyboard -Why Anyway exactly.
At our website, I learned that there must be a mechanical keyboard because that is much better (for whatever reason exactly). So set before: a mechanical, it needs to be. I won.
Then the exact product. First I wanted something cool like the G910 where you can program each key individually in color. Then I have been clear that if I as a disco lighting imagine on the desk, my wife had finally laughed and declared crazy. Jut, so a little more subtle.
Then came the G701 + into play that looks quite out Adults desk ready and had Cherry MX Brown switches supposedly great. In internetwork rages a small war between red, brown, blue and black. Rate I do therefore also of a completely unbedarftem standpoint, namely from the perspective of someone who has never owned a "gaming keyboard", neither mechanical nor "normal" and therefore also has no comparison.
2. Device
The device itself looks beautiful. It's like saying quite adult capable and does something her on the desk. The processing is wertig, the frame nicely heavy and therefore slippery and the lighting is meant much more sense than initially. Something stupid is that each second key function is not mitbeleuchtet. This is extremely ill-conceived. I can turn on the lamp equal again to find out under what sign, for example, hiding the "'" and then the lighting itself to absurdity. Is nice but that's dimmable lighting in several stages.
The lighting has two zones: a) the WASD keys and the arrow keys, and b) the rest of the world. Well hurt tuts not, but is it a killer feature.
There is another USB port at the rear of the keyboard. Damage also does dasnicht, I do not need it however. It is handy that you can disable the Windows key that is for Grobmotoriker like me actually sometimes good (if you look for recalls the key lock to activate and not only when it's too late) and the volume control and mute switch directly on the keyboard and the multimedia keys are also very nice and are used more frequently than originally thought.
In that regard, there is nothing to complain about. The device does what it says; all advertised features are on board, and I personally find appearance and workmanship is very good.
3. Games Features

After (!) I've bought the keyboard I noticed that I honestly have no idea what I could use the keys. The Logitech program (available on the Internet) that has looks rather nice prefabricated profiles for some of my games. But somehow I see no point in me because draufzulegen functions just fine are now on other keys. This is but I think my höchtspersönliches problem because a) I play I think just the wrong games for something and b) I'm an old bag which such a device has just bought from the fun of the super duper gaming keyboard, without a moment to consider beforehand, what he really needs something like this ...
But in theory this works and can be combined with the program simply assign / program.

Oh yes, and now on mechanical keyboard: Supposedly one has thus a very different gaming experience. You can press X buttons simultaneously while in normal keyboards only 6 keys are simultaneously (I am now that I have the Hell machine in front of me, noticed that I have think I never pressed for more than 3 buttons simultaneously) or something like that.
Yes and it has supposedly told a very different lot more feel or ... Honestly ... I do not mind really. Maybe that's with me again casting pearls before swine, but my 10, - EUR Fuijitsu keyboard by friendly electronics giant next door was also okay. Halt not as fancy, but perfectly adequate for my skills. I for one have had "Aha experience" neither playing nor while typing a. The only people for me noticeable differences are that the keys are a little louder and the Anschlagweg longer. But neither I type faster when working yet I live more in my computer games. It is confirmed here an old saying: Expensive equipment does not replace a skill!
Oh yes, and my wife hates the keyboard, because the supposedly was much more difficult to write it.
3. Conclusion
And now everyone has probably understood the title. The keyboard is -soweit I judge at all can- completely knorke. Looks good, the Logitech program is great and many of the functions - as far as I have ever user-modified well thought out.
But I personally would not buy again an expensive mechanical gaming keyboard. The mechanical switches make no difference to me, the macros I use just as the possibility of 23 buttons (or so) to be pressed simultaneously. If I'm honest, the only two features which provide a genuine added value compared to my old 10 EUR Cheap keyboard, the lighting and the volume control.
I would have but can have for less than half the price fetched here. One should even BEFORE ask just how often I press more than 6 keys simultaneously? How often I wanted to take my macros? And how often I have the feeling that me limitert my keyboard?
If you are still of the opinion then that one needs an expensive gaming keyboard, the G701 + has determined a good choice. Because apart from a few minor flaws can not be faulted.
