After charging the battery, I admit that I was a little scared because I started to follow the instructions in the manual on CD-ROM (choosing the date, time, time zone), all was well and Then I turned off the machine to turn it back moments later. Bad luck, I had a message "zoom error" (in effect, zooming has not retracted). Immediately, I look at the record: no message corresponded to this problem. Finally, I removed the battery for more than an hour, and I gave it everything works again normally. Phew.
Note that you can put an SD card, but this is not mandatory since Olympus has its own memory. Fortunately, because the card is not provided. However, to make videos, it will prove necessary ... unless you just 14 seconds of film. For cons, I think the sound is very limited: even speaking loudly and setting the volume to maximum, it is attenuated and not very clear. It's better once transferred to computer. When I connected the USB cable to my PC to view recorded video, the screen of the Olympus informed me that the battery was being charged. What! Already! But I only did 5 photos and 4 videos! Frankly, I find this a bit harsh, especially as it lasts, it lasts ...
For cons, I really enjoyed the information displayed on the screen when changing the settings of the upper dial to the shooting modes. No need to remember the manual.
The possibilities for taking pictures of all kinds have literally enchanted me:
- The Automatic Mode allows only having to perform any manipulations,
- Manual shooting for which we can select the speed, aperture and ISO oneself,
- Artistic filters with a fantastic choice (black and white, pinhole effect, diorama, your drama, pop art, fade effects, neutral tone or light)
- Scene mode with the Super Macro (indeed, it is clear at approximately 2 cm)
- Portraits,
- Portraits with more natural skin effect,
- Landscapes with respect for blues and greens,
taking pictures with a certain interval,
- Blur-free motion picture,
- Photo with good people management within background,
- Selfies (I confess that I have not seen any difference)
- Photo of sunset,
- Life scenes (including Food Image)
- Photo of written documents,
- Snowy or sandy landscapes,
- Night shots in different situations,
- Panoramic photos,
- Assembly of several photos for a scrapbook effect.
It is also possible to take images continuously and set the shutter speed according to several options. The device also has a timer.
I note that at one point, after taking a picture, the screen kept displaying a message "Busy". It would not stop ... I had to remove the battery to get things back to normal. But I think this is because of the memory of the device is very limited. So you have an SD card for use with profit.
I took a number of shots and found them very correct, especially the macro with the ability to take pictures at about 2 centimeters.
In conclusion, a very nice camera for personal use, not perfect, but well designed and I am personally satisfied.
