First of all:
To make a long story short I'll describe only the things that have prompted me to return the TAMRON 24-70 VC again.
Autofocus
- In my tests on various charts, the focus usually sat
- Once I "normal" photographed was the AF but very unstable (often was 0.5 - 1cm behind or in front of it ... brought Kamerainterene AF correction no improvement)
- Autofocus with my version noticeably slower than the 350 Tamron 28-75 with "built in motor" (rods AF)
The image stabilizer
- The results were very inconsistent
- Partially blurred images at shutter speeds where the stability not at "work" needs eg 50mm 1/60
After subsequent research I've read many complaints other Tamron 24-70 (Nikon) users, exactly describe the geiche problems. Even after service of Tamron, the problem was often not resolved.
Very very unfortunate because I feel and sharpness (!!!) of Tamron have really liked to the D800.
The Tamron AF 28-75mm 2.8 XR DI LD ASL SP Macro digital lens with "Built-in Motor" was surprisingly good.
The AF was fast and always met, the focus was ok for me.

UPDATE:
I have now on a transitional basis, the "new" 2012er Nikon 24-85 VR bought used for 280.
- AF is slow but sitting
- Focus from open aperture good
- VR works very reliably and efficiently -> 85mm at 1/20 often works
- The Verzeichung at 24mm and 85mm, however, extremely
Price / performance in my case, but very good.
