Card reader:
It reads all known and unknown cards. Both obsolete and standard cards like SD and MicroSD. Connected it is yet to be released via a USB port on the motherboard (MB)! Care must be taken that the plan MBs have mostly double-ports per connector. Say 1 connector and there are 2 ports on it. Such a connector is at the ICY BOX and thus has 2x USB 2.0. One of them is for the card reader.
USB 2.0 (4x):
There are no 4 ports that are occupied by the MBS. possibly quite good because not as many are free for some. I find it very good. So it is a USB hub. It is demonstrated directly on the MB (as with the card reader) and the data rate is divided between the ports 1 Port. The voltage supplied by the mains. There is a Molex connector comes to the power supply. One must have no free space for it. It is an intermediate piece. In theory, it would have without this power supply function. However, the ports would then divide the maximum current.
Audio:
Speaker and microphone connection are available. They are mounted internally on the MB and optionally have an AC97 or HD audio connector. Depending on the MB you can use the right and take full advantage of! Well done.
USB 3.0 (2x):
As mentioned in the preface, this is the fail. The connectors are well attached (technically) but in the end only a USB-A connector of the back of the I / O panel of the MB 3.0 sockets comes in the USB-A. Thus one has the front but it occupies the rear for a full USB 3.0. So only a USB extension. It's a pity you could have done it either, or mitliefern an adapter or something ... I personally do not even bother, because I have not a single USB 3.0 device. However, it will annoy me sometime. Those who have a little knowledge of schematics and soldering can, can also be very easy to build your own connector for internal USB sockets or buy an adapter for about 10. The accounts for the 19-pin connector on the MB 2x USB 3.0 connectors where the cables can clean again. Then you have no warranty.
E-SATA:
There's not much to say. As with USB 3.0 a kind of extension. One plug internally simply the SATA cable to a SATA slot and you're done.
Processing:
Solder joints look okay. Interconnects are with naked eye also ok. Generally the structure is ok. A disadvantage is the Plastig the housing on the sides (where screwed) is not amplified. The screw is so annoying because the Plastig bends a little more inside. Also no threads are available. Tightened it will be eaten with self-tapping screws into the holes provided.
Connectors (jacks):
When card reader I could not test, but SD was normal, as one would expect. USB (all) are as we know it, however, the audio jacks are something schwergänig. At first it's easy but in the end you have the missing 2mm with more force reprints. E-SATA I have not tested.
Installation:
That was pretty straightforward, a little frickelarbeit throughout the Kabelage. Otherwise, only the non-existent thread has disturbed for installation. However, that is no reason not to buy it or worse to evaluate. How often you build the part on or off? ;)
I hope I could give you a good look at the product.
