Of course you informed nowadays extensively on the Internet (if you have the time and energy to do so) about the different camera models. It is striking that one always eventually find pages that have to suspend an otherwise highly acclaimed camera slightly. But with the PowerShot 210, many were in agreement: A thoroughly good camera, good image quality, nice additional features. So: Ordered.
For practicality: The pop-up flash really does not bother. I find it quite nice, especially since such a flash minimizes the red-eye effect.
The HD video I really liked. In some low light (indoors while outdoors sun) but it shows a slight noise - Top video quality can not be expected then, for me anyway a thick + this camera!
But now at last the photo quality. Many pictures were actually to look very pretty, especially close-ups in macro mode (which I rarely use but otherwise really). Many photos but unfortunately not. Quick me a shortcoming became apparent: Very quickly on the automatic my camera to very high ISO values in order. An example: Outside, sunshine, shadow, beautiful weather, I knippse my girlfriend - and the automatic switch to ISO 400 ??
Some images were thus advised to garish. Very often the automatic has switched in bright light at ISO160 or higher. Reminder: The lower the ISO value, the better the image quality of compact cameras.
One has the option to switch to manual mode. Even if there activates the Auto ISO, the camera also then selects the (normal) 80 ISO value in bright sunlight, where the automatic has just made an ISO 200 image. So so you can work around this drawback, however, then have to do without the nice advantages of automatic.
I found a few pictures garish than anything, "it looks as if bad weather was" whereas many pictures were there again and again, which looked very good.
In such a camera, I must be able to rely on the automatic, otherwise I would have the same brought me a SLR. In this there is unfortunately a matter of luck if the photo is good or not. Unfortunately.
Positive should be noted that you can really set a great many things manually and try around it. This is often also gets better photos out than with the automatic. My recommendation: "P" mode, all automatic, no i-Contrast, color saturation at +1 Contrast, Sharpness +1, +1 color. Job seekers on facial recognition.
Another positive I want to mention the image quality in low light conditions. Of course, a picture noise is noted, nevertheless succeeds in PowerShot, moods in pictures by candlelight, etc. good catch. Nice and much better than my old camera in this field!
Finally, it should be mentioned that the camera no 3: 2 aspect ratio offers. 4: 3 or 16: 9, the Auswhlmögichkeiten.
Conclusion: This camera can take pictures better than my old Casio Exilim, but some are also unfortunately much worse. Because of the usually good reviews in many magazines the possibility should be mentioned that my automatic has a defect, and therefore may not work properly. Overall, not a bad camera, but on the automatic should work ....
