I have long searched for a suitable screen protector for the iPhone 6. In particular, through its design (rounded display) it was not easy to find a film with which I was able to arrange me halfway. Finally my search has ended.
Packaging and contents:
The packaging is very high quality and in terms of price I was pleasantly surprised. All unnecessary plastic was waived skillfully.
The package includes two screen protectors, two sets wipes, a microfiber cloth and a plastic tape.
Attachment of the film (the armored glass):
On the back of the package is a step by step guide to install the foil. These rules should be trying to work as dust-free as possible. In particular, the tape has helped me to remove final dust particles from the display. The included microfiber cloth has the dust rather than distributed away. At this point I would recommend the rye Duo, which I for cleaning all Smartphone and Tablet screens used (very good cleaning effect, no alcohol, supplied separately microfibre cloth also good).
The placement of the film I have found to be much simpler than other films. This is because in this film good reference points are available through the exact cut-out for home button and top speakers.
The film has subsequently drawn independently and with the microfiber cloth I could remove without problems last bubbles.
Use with Cases:
Here I see sometimes the biggest problem of the film. It is possible to use the film in conjunction with Cases, however, each case is not suited for that. I tested two Cases with attached film and came to the following conclusion:
1. Apple Original Case Leather: This makes it possible to use the slide. The film does not dissolve and the case can also be applied without force.
2. The mumbi Cases iPhone 6 is not suitable. When attaching the Cases, the film has begun to solve, sometimes more, sometimes less. Therefore, I can not recommend this combination unfortunately.
Differences to the transparent version / advantages and disadvantages:
Probably the biggest difference for the transparent version is that in the black version, the entire display is covered. Both the display, the front camera and the part above the display are thus protected. The Home button is of course free to continue but is completely enclosed in contrast to the transparent variant.
Pro transparent version:
- It can be used with all cases the film.
- The home button can be operated more easily due to the lower opening.
Pro version with black border:
- It is covered the entire display, therefore better protection.
- By the full coverage is no gap between Case and foil available (agreeable operation, to get less possibility of dust in the joints).
Price:
For two sheets and the accessories can I find the price to be absolutely reasonable and not overpriced.
Protection:
I have dispensed with scratch tests. But I assume that under normal use the display is absolutely properly protected.
Long-term experience:
I will also report in the near future in the comments if the film begins with the rounding of the iPhone to solve or not.
Criticism:
In the upper left corner, part of the black coating has already been adopted. Due to a few small bubbles at the beginning, I have once again raised the film shortly. This is obviously not recommended if blemishes are to be avoided.
In addition, I noticed that the second film (which I have not yet in use) the upper right corner has a small defect. The build quality could therefore be a little more consistent.
Conclusion:
I highly recommend the film to anyone who or his smartphone without casing with an Apple Leather Case (with the Apple Silicone Case should also fold ..) used. All others I would recommend the transparent film.
If anyone should still order the version with black border, I would ask those to write if the compatibility is provided with the respective case or not a comment.
