My rating:
Processing:
+ The workmanship is good and sometimes better than competing products for the price.
+ The included 3.5mm jack cable is thick enough so that it does not constantly vertüddelt
+ The earcups are very soft and are very pleasant even for eyeglass wearers and long wear
+/- The relation of art ears warm in winter, but leaves a sweat in the summer time - music independently ;-)
Sound:
+ The earphones are ajar. This gives an airy transparent sound, but can also block external noise through. That may not be any. I have also enclosed Sennheiser PX 360 BT, which are absolutely superior to the HiFi sound forth the Philips. But as a pedestrian on the street, or in other situations where I still have experienced something of the environment, I'm wearing prefer semi-open headphones.
+/- The sound is about BT and wired very airy and rich in detail. However, I suppose compared to other headphones not particularly pronounced bass true - at least not with "normal" volume. That to me is also not a big problem, but for bass lovers other headphones are suitable determined better.
+/- The microphone for the hands-free system is good in a quiet area. But if the environment is noisy is your voice not loud enough through.
- If you want to listen to your favorite songs even louder one gets determined quickly dirty looks from fellow passengers. This is of course due to design, but for some perhaps a KO criterion ...
Service:
+ The use of volume and skip forward and back through the (+/- button) work well
+ The battery lasts me for about 8-10 hours. Wireless listening experience
+/- Pairing funktionier usually good. However, I sometimes needed even 3 attempts ...
- The large on / off, start / stop, coupling and call answer button on the right ear cup is a disaster! The key is actually the whole cover of the outer ear and has a very bad to controlling pressure point. The whole feels very wobbly. This works best the button when you have the headset in one hand and with the thumb exactly centered on presses, while the other fingers from behind against the ear press to produce enough resistance. The stupid thing is now that the thumb then just the indicator light (which is too small and also the exact center) covers. Whether you have already turned on or has already landed through to long press by mistake in pairing or caught by tipping the redial one notices only when the finger of the button takes the.
When you have the headphones on his head is the operation of the key by the sharp fall in ear cushions also not ideal. And unfortunately the acoustic confirmation signals are also often too slow.
Conclusion:
Actually, the Philips is one of the best BT headphones in this price range. Sound and comfort are good. And control over the volume switch is released interesting and also works neatly. But the main key of the size of the entire headphone cover is in my opinion a bad design - at least at this pressure point switch. It would have been better here to choose the proven operating concept of smaller, individually mounted cruise control buttons with good tactile feedback. For that I would have been willing EUR 20 spend more for this, otherwise very good headphones.
Would not be the key issue, I would give the SHB 9100 Price / Performance 5 star. But as I repeatedly get angry every day over the botched main key, I give only 3 Stars. And I hope that there will be a sequel with better functioning headset button. I would also like to buy again.
